I’m sure you are correct, but to let Nancy keep one from [enjoying] the Eucharist, seems as if it’s giving her too much power. As my dh has mentioned to me, focus on the Cross; that’s all one has to do.
It’s not Nancy it’s the priest and the bishops who administer the sacrament. The ones who are following the actions of Jesus. They are dishonoring the eucharist. They are doing it knowingly, there is no confusion about her actions and statements.
Well, I wouldn’t let a [lukewarm] priest keep me from enjoying the benefits of the Eucharist, either.
My b-i-l is a [solid] RC priest and he withheld the Eucharist from our own [somewhat] fallen-away son during my mother’s funeral Mass. Talk about painful. On the one hand we understood completely; on the other, we felt so bad for our son.
It will be interesting come late in September when Pope Francis comes to the USA in regards to the politicos who will show up for all the events.
Oy vey, I hadn’t thought about that; can you only imagine?
My point is, the Lord has always required human action to confront evil. Prayer is powerful, but he wants us involved.
"Each one of us is a co-worker of Christ - we must labour hard to carry Him to the hearts where He has not yet been known and loved. But, unless we have Jesus, we cannot give Him; that is why we need the Eucharist. Spend as much time as possible in front of the Blessed Sacrament and He will fill you with His strength and His power. Tell Him, 'Come to our hearts Lord and stay with us.' Then you will become the instruments of His love, peace and joy." -Mother Teresa, 7-15-96http://adorationrocks.com/letter.html
