It is one think to deal with a drunk, quite another to deal with a drunk who has a club in his hand. The Gay mights movement is one of the most powerful lobbies in the United States and they want to use the club of government to suppress any opposition. You may not have noticed what the Lesbian mayor of Houston is trying to do. They may look normal, but the gay activists are fanatics, determined to get their way. Prudence dictates that we protect ourselves against them.

. I would guess that there are Catholics who support abortion but also do many good deeds. Sarah Weddington is a very nice person, but she is also a fanatical supporter of abortion on demand.

Be wise as the serpent and as innocent as the dove. Those of us who are old enough have seen this play before. The liberals in the Council used the press to prevent the “conservatives” in the Curia from setting the agenda. In the end we get a set of documents that are still not widely known which were interpreted for the public by liberals with a radical reform agenda. Whatever the report of the Synod says, and it will say nothing extraordinary (I think) but what follows next will determine the course of events. I wonder what Pascal would say about this Jesuit pope?

Our prelates surely know Church LAW yet over 50% of them voted for those 3 heretical points. Without explanation Cardinal Burke is exiled & other effeminate types are placed in control positions & will be selecting new Bishops to insure their collective stays in power. We cannot relax, we must implore our Lord to put an end to this internal corruption. Use St. Padre Pio’s weapon, the Rosary, relentlessly !

I see the media is still trying to define Francis.

Cardinal Burke out at Signatura.

Worse than I thought.

My husband and I were trying to figure out what those gifts were? Splendid designs of surpluses? As much as I love Michelangelo, I’m still not sure of those Swiss Guard uniforms, lol!

Not all of a person's being is tied up in how they use their genitals. Not all homosexuals are activists out to destroy family and marriage. While we don't want to elevate them to special positions in religious organizations, we also don't want to emulate Jonah and run from them to deny them the opportunity to be saved.

I’ve dealt with gay men most of my life - theater is NY is dominated by them. They’ve gone from being creative people to people hostile to family, church and culture in general. Some of the most uncultured men I know are gay - very different from 40 years ago when they were mostly closeted.

I’m not changing my mind about gay men because you know two guys who are nice. I know nice gay guys, too. As Quentin Crisp always related - straights know nothing about gay men after dark. When I was a kid, my gay friends would drop me off at my apartment at 11:30 (after theater and dinner) and on they would go the raunchiest bars in the West Village. Lost several of them to AIDs.

I understand what you are saying. However, I am speaking of individuals who are truly seeking God. There are homosexuals, of good will, who stand outside the Church because they don’t feel welcome. They need to be invited in, like all sinners, and taught with patience.

Every soul is important, but not every soul chooses God.

Well said. That seems to be the pope's concern.

Good news for now. But, this first synod was to smoke out those who will oppose these changes. The second, in 2015 should be interesting. Great news is that the Holy Spirit has our back. :)

This isn’t leftist media. The relatio was approved by Francis before being released. Then the conservatives fought back. Thank God. The press didn’t cause this.

Francis is the reincarnation of Pope Paul VI. Who by way was his great hero.

Like most, at first I had high hopes for Pope Francis. But when I saw him line up against Cardinal Raymond Burke it was apparent my hopes were false. Cardinal Burke is a good man of sound judgment who is instinctively on the correct side of issues. This will be a divisive papacy.

Ping the Missus who, I believe, might have a thing or three to say about Paul VI.

Who is keeping homosexuals out of the pews? Why do they need to be invited? Nobody invited me to attend Mass.

Think of the image that they have of the Church, especially if they travel in homosexual/liberal circles.

If this pope had his way, it seems as if acceptance of homosexuals would be a form of Church dogma, no?

It depends on what you mean by "acceptance of homosexuals."

First, the Church doesn't really recognize the term "homosexual." Such people are people with an inclination to a particular sin.

Like all of us, they must "repent and believe." Those who don't see sodomy as a sin can't be formally welcomed into the Church. But they can certainly be evangelized, and welcomed to learn about the Church.
