Featured Term (selected at random:

UNIAT CHURCHES

Eastern Christians who profess the same doctrines as the rest of the Roman Catholic Church. Their rites and discipline, however, vary greatly from those of the Latin Rite. Their liturgies originated in Antioch, Alexandria, and Byzantium, and they usually have a married clergy. Nearly all Non-Uniat churches possess corresponding Uniat groups who have reacknowledged their allegiance to the Pope. the expression "Uniat," though found in theological literature, is seldom used by Eastern Catholics. They feel that it implies something less than complete allegiance to the Holy See.

Why can we not have a married clergy here as well?

I once heard an interviewer speaking to the wives of clerics, mostly English women. THEIR comment was that it was almost impossible to be a good father to their children AND be an equally good pastor to the flock.
There simply weren't enough hours in the day.
SOMEONE had to "go without."

There was always a maxim that the WORST kids in the neighborhood were the kids of cops and MINISTERS.

Ask your Bishop. I don’t have the answer.

Permanent Deacons can be married. So, in fact, we do have some married clergy.

Deacons
Priesthood
Episcopate

The three levels of ordination.

“There was always a maxim that the WORST kids in the neighborhood were the kids of cops and MINISTERS. “

Well isn’t that a nice generalization. Good lord.

Well isn’t that a nice generalization. Good lord.

People seem to like generalizations. It seems to make the world clearer for them.

Similar generalization: all Muslims are going to Hell.

Steve Ray was an evangelical Baptist minister and he TRULY believed that all us Catholics were doomed to hell. Now, he's Catholic and leads tours (with his wife Janet) to the Holy Land.

His Biblical background was fabulous as he could quote, chapter and verse, every event from the Bible, Old AND New Testament.

Crossing the Tiber is their book on their conversion. Interesting read.
SCOTT HAHN also has an interesting conversion story.

“!There simply weren’t enough hours in the day.”

There are some people who are simply unable to comprehend that direct statement. Or perhaps they think there are 72 hours in the day.

OK so lets let all the priests get married then whatever will they harp on? I heard they did a poll of American priests and the overwhelming majority, did not wish to be married.

Marriage will not solve the problem of problematic priests. Only God can fix that. A man who has a true vocation is aided by prayer to follow his vocation. Good priests are to tired to think about women.
