Osteen sounds like a freak.
woe
He has gone completely nuts
Just another religious crackpot
Never had much use for Osteen. He is becoming much bolder in his blasphemous theology. Very sad. God will deal with him justly as he will me. I won’t judge his soul eternally, that is reserved for God. But I will make judgment about his theology: he is tragically wrong and he needs to reform it. I shudder to think that I may have led someone down the wrong path to their eternity. That is a very sobering thought.

Oh, don`t they just love him, he tells them every thing they want to hear.
And most likely getting wealthy from it.
When religion gets too hard make your own, make yourself God and judge of mankind.
It really is in our nature to try to control what we can’t control. In religion we often think that our will is or should be God’s Will.
We want God to be a big sugar daddy in the sky who does our bidding just because we pray, especially if we’ve already made millions off of “God”. Repentance can be overlooked if we justify to ourselves that we’re really nice.
He’s just opening up a new stream of potential revenue for his “God” business.
2 Tim 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts.
I sorta wish that, once this was done, that there would never again be the temptation to sin or to fall back into sin but all Christians do to one degree or another. We are still fallen man, even after we've received Christ as Savior, though we are to be dead to its desires.
What it boils down to is two concepts:
Do you believe in "once saved, always saved"? Paul says in Romans we are sealed in the Holy Spirit and that God is mightier than the world so a Believer is always saved*.
*The exception is the "unpardonable sin" which is explained as "grieving the Holy Spirit". Many see that as committing suicide but we never get a further clarification.
The other concept is whether you believe in predestination. I believe God has so crafted our environment that both free will and predestination exist - that man has a free will to choose salvation but that God ultimately calls those He chooses to be saved.
In short, many who pretend to be Christians will be rejected by Christ and many who chosen, saved and then fell back into sin (at least for a time) are still saved. Christ knows His sheep and His sheep hear His voice. Like sheep we stray from the fold, at times, but Our Lord does not reject us. Rather He comes for us to lead us back according to His timing.
As for the practicing homosexual, I would predict that some are saved Christians but they will be the ones who recognize it as sin and wrestle with the urge. The ones marching in parades and demanding homosexual marriage are probably not these people.
So Osteen is correct but incorrect. God does love us all, including homosexuals, and wishes all to be saved. But clearly not everyone will be saved and it is Christ who will do the choosing, not Joel Osteen.
To consider rebuking the apostles, though, would seem to misunderstand the role of the Holy Spirit in the writing of Scripture and once people decide that they can discard certain parts of the Scripture, they deny its inerrancy and once you deny that, what have you left to stand on?
Osteen also told Piers Morgan that he would have no problem attending a homosexual “wedding.”
I hear only a handful of preachers really proclaiming the Word of the Lord. David Lankford among one of them. All the New Testament authors proclaim there will be hell to pay if we didn't follow the narrow path.
“... he has come out boldly to infer indirectly ...”
The sentence contains a passive point but, qualified with “Boldly”?
Uhmmmm....K
Imply is what I impart to you and infer is what you conclude or deduce.
But, where is the link to those statements?
This is quite a hit piece on Joel Osteen...
This statement about universalism is not what Joel is teaching...He is teaching the biblical truth that all people CAN be saved no matter what you are or what you've done...
I'm not a big fan of Joel Osteen since he doesn't teach (on tv) the 'whole counsel of God'...But to watch so much scripture be taken out of context to attack him is disgraceful...
Joel Osteen, Oprah Winfrey...who can tell the difference.
Why is this jackass so revered on this site? He’s a prosperity heathen and heretic. Try to find a crucifix anywhere in his “church.” Not sure why FreeRepublic highlights this fool’s pronouncements.
Osteen needs to drop the Christian label. But, of course he won’t because he needs to deceive well meaning followers that really do want to be Christians, and to provide a means for non-Christians to maintain a Christian façade.
He clearly is more in line with the Unitarian Universalists; at least the Unitarians have enough self respect to say who they are.
So do you agree with “Brother” Osteen here?
