The Catholic community in the Archdiocese of Boston expresses its deep sadness and strong opposition to the plan to stage a “black mass” on the campus of Harvard University in Cambridge.
For the good of the Catholic faithful and all people, the Church provides clear teaching concerning Satanic worship. This activity separates people from God and the human community, it is contrary to charity and goodness, and it places participants dangerously close to destructive works of evil.
In a recent statement, Pope Francis warned of the danger of being naïve about or underestimating the power of Satan, whose evil is too often tragically present in our midst. We call upon all believers and people of good will to join us in prayer for those who are involved in this event, that they may come to appreciate the gravity of their actions, and in asking Harvard to disassociate itself from this activity.

I would think anyone attending a black mass would already be separated from the body of believers.
I want to know where they got the consecrated host they plan to use.
Without the unmerited mercy and grace of God, they will most certainly reap what they sow.
My brother used to volunteer as a sentinel at the Catholic Cathedral in DC once a month, on the lookout for nefarious characters looking to take consecrated hosts.

I’m confused as to why hosts consecrated by a Christian church would be important to satanists?
Catholics and Orthodox believe in the real presence of the Eucharist.
It is therefore an attempt at committing the gravest possible sacrilege to desecrate the consecrated host containing the real presence of Jesus Christ’s Body and Blood.
In effect, theologically, it is like betraying Jesus to his enemies with a kiss.
The simple answer is that Satanist believe the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ reside under the accidents of consecrated bread and wine.
As far as I know, and could be wrong, only Roman Catholic and Orthodox believe this.
Not just hosts consecrated by "a Christian Church," but specifically hosts consecrated by the Catholic Church is what they're interested in. This i because they wish to express contempt fo God, and God is really, sacramentally present in the form of bread and wine consecrated by the Catholic priest.
The satanists don't want something "symbolic." They want to truly desecrate the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Need to keep in mind that Satan knows the Scripture, the Doctrine, the Sacraments -— he knows the truth, but simply hates it.
Satanists despise the Body and Blood of the Lord. And they are motivated to desecrate the Catholic/Orthodox Sacraments, because they recognize the Real Presence.
Two years ago they began to let the ushers do it.
Irreligious young people looking for a bit of "spooky" entertainment might turn up...And get sucked down.
Its horrifying to contemplate.
I am an usher in my Catholic Church, and ever since some Satanists out in Chicago were trying to get their hands on a consecrated host, we are on high alert for this.
Form a circle of Rosary pray-ers around this Student activity and the Devil will keep out of it.
Or have the Catholic chaplain lead a Eucharistic Procession to the event, followed by Adoration during the event.
