I will not buy any book that is written for the purpose of selling some one belief in the here after, I do not know what heaven is like and may never find out, I can only talk to God about that.

But any one who can swallow all of these so called death or near death experiences should have no problem with so called prophets like joseph Smith or any one else.

Glenn Beck comes to mind.

Also, I also advise that if one’s parish community has what is called a bereavement ministry, make good use of that ministry. My parish has one and it was very helpful.

Heaven is best left to Scripture. Anything we concoct will fall far short and may very well lead us to the wrong motivations.

You said it, so I don't have to.

Add in a healthy awareness of the limits of what God has told us.

Matters not if the dearly departed is a Christian or dyed in the wool atheist. They died, therefore they are in a better place.

No need to speak ill of the dead.

I have always felt that if we could imagine Heaven it wouldn’t be Heaven.

Nor to lie

You can express sympathy without spreading false hope.

Even the ones that have been canonized in the last 50 years?
