The statue depicted above is a recreation.
Greenough's work was completed in 1840, Eliphas Lévi's depiction appeared later, in 1850. It's most likely that both used the same iconographic treatment for their subject.

Putting the children in was a calculated jab at the rest of the world to inflame them and get attention.

I can see an obama mask on the statue. Or eyeglasses. Maybe a Hitler moustache or a broken-off index finger on the raised hand. How about a clown wig? Anything to point up how utterly childish this is.
I didn’t mean to imply the Washington statue was supposed to be Baphomet. I was noting the occultic pose was the same.
Also, Zeus isn’t as offensive to our eyes, but he’s no less a false god than Baphomet. The God of the Bible is a jealous God. I don’t think he laughs at the pagan statues decorating our capitol buildings and court houses.
The signifigance of the arms on the statue:
“As above, so below.”
As I said in my last comment, I didn’t mean to imply the Washington statue was some sort of representation of Baphomet, I was merely nothing their occultic pose. It wasn’t coincidence.
So..... When will the angry Christian mobs violently riot to protest this affront?
