Dissenting Priest Defies Church of England's Teaching on Marriage, 'Marries' his Homosexual Paramour

A practicing homosexual priest has defied the Church of England's ban on homosexual and lesbian clergy marrying by wedding his longtime male homosexual companion. The 58-year-old Canon Jeremy Pemberton, a divorced hospital chaplain, wed his long-term homosexual paramour, 51-year-old Laurence Cunnington, this past weekend. A leading member of the church's faithful wing has called for discipline of any clergy seen to be veering from Christian orthodoxy concerning marriage and warned of a "crisis" if the leadership failed to take action.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The couple predict that they will be the first of many homosexual clergy to marry. While campaigners expressed delight that the couple had taken advantage of Britain's newly-introduced gay marriage laws, strong opposition lies ahead from those within the Church who continue to embrace the unbroken teaching of the Christian faith for over two thousand years that marriage exists solely between one man and one woman.

It's expected that many bishops will not recognize or "bless" their new arrangement because it is absolutely contrary to the teaching of the Bible and the Christian Church for over two thousand years. Of course, the very future of the Church is now placed in issue as a result of this rejection of the teaching of the scriptuure and the tradition that marriage is between one man and one woman.

A father of five, Pemberton is a chaplain at Lincoln hospital and also works in the Church's Southwell and Nottingham diocese. He was formerly married to a woman. Pemberton took a stand against Christian orthodoxy in 2012 when he was a signatory to a letter to The Telegraph from dozens of Anglican clergy warning that if the Church of England refused to permit homosexual and lesbian weddings in its own churches they would advise members of their congregations to.....

What believer would ever attend a church like that?

Why is anybody getting worked up about the “marriage”? The rebellious sin has been going on for years - and apparently nobody has bothered to do a thing about it. Hypocrites!

Questions, questions, questions....

WHO carried the bouquet?
WHO threw the bouquet?
Who gave the bride groom away? His best person/friend?
Who wore a veil? Can't have a wedding without a veil!
Who word the blue garter on her his leg?
Who wore the flowers in her his hair?
Which one wore: something borrowed, something blue?
Who carried whom across the threshold?
Were there flowergirlspersons?
Who was the ring bearer--one of their younger, um, "friends" or such?

.

.

.

YUCK.

His thinking processes and reasoning ability must be something to behold.

His life as a bible teaching, Christian Priest, and his 58 years of age led him to this?

Priests are supposed to be celibate. Should’ve been removed just for living a lying lifestyle.

I’d like to know how they think they can have God’s blessing on the church.

Unfortunately, so many are now trapped in their homosexual addictions. This guy had 5 children, so obviously he was previously heterosexual. You wonder how they get trapped in this addiction.

Gay right’s been around a long time:”
Jdg 19:20 The old man replied, “Don’t be alarmed. I’ll take care of all your needs. Just don’t spend the night in the public square.”
Jdg 19:21 So he took him into his home and fed the donkeys while they refreshed themselves and had dinner.”
Jdg 19:22 While they were enjoying themselves, all of a sudden certain ungodly men who lived in the city surrounded the house, pounded on the door, and ordered the old man who owned the home, “Bring out the man who came to visit your home so we can have sex with him.”
Jdg 19:23 The man who owned the house went out to talk to them and pleaded with them, “No, my brothers, please don’t act so wickedly. This man is my guest! Don’t try to do this stupid thing.
Jdg 19:24 Instead, here’s my virgin daughter and my visitor’s mistress. Please let me bring them out to you. Occupy yourselves with them, and do to them whatever you would like. But don’t commit such a stupid thing against this man.”
Jdg 19:25 But the men were unwilling to listen to him. So the descendant of Levi grabbed his mistress, took her out to them, and they raped and tortured her all night until morning. Then they released her as the first daylight was beginning to appear.
Jdg 19:26 As dawn was breaking, the woman approached the door of the man’s home where her master was and collapsed. Eventually, full daylight came.
Jdg 19:27 When her master got up that morning and opened the doors of the house to leave on his way, there was his mistress, fallen dead at the door of the house with her hands grasping the threshold.
Jdg 19:28 He spoke to her, “Get up, and let’s go.” But there was no response. So he placed her on the donkey, mounted his own animal, and went home.
Jdg 19:29 When he arrived home, he grabbed a knife, took hold of his mistress, cut her apart limb by limb into twelve pieces, and sent her remains throughout the land of Israel.
Jdg 19:30 All the witnesses said, “Nothing has happened or has been seen like this from the day the Israelis came here from the land of Egypt to this day! Think about it, get some advice about it, and then speak up about it!”

He can and should be defrocked. The Church of England must do that or begin to become irrelevant.

1. Priests are supposed to be celibate. Should’ve been removed just for living a lying lifestyle.
2. I’d like to know how they think they can have God’s blessing on the church.

1. Henry VIII changed all that "nonsense" about celibate priests when he took the good, sturdy and ancient Catholic Church in England and made it what HE wanted. The king/queen thus became/are/will always be head the Church of England, with an "archbishop" of Canterbury in charge. A Pope, the successor of Peter, GONE with a "royal decree." Poof.

2. I would like to know that too. I THINK the two men have fallen into the sin of what Pope Benedict called "relative morality." Benedict called that the worst problem of our modern era.

The Church of England became heretical when Henry VIII did away with the succession of Peter and became HEAD of his own invention: the Church of England. The royalty still are heads of the Church of England.

Broken rules can become a habit when the foundation of said Church, the "Church of England," was based on the doing away with the succession of Peter as vicar of Christ's Church on earth. Jesus told Peter that he, Peter, was the vicar, "Cephas," the ROCK, on which Jesus would build His Church, not the kings and queens of England.

Christ didn't mention earthly kings and queens heading their own Church. Perhaps the C of E became irrelevant when it chose its own path, rather than follow Jesus' path.

Do YOU think they will be defrocked?

Therein lies the problem. Practice makes perfect.
