And Christ knew he was going to ascend into heaven so he told the Apostles that he would be with them always. He founded the Church on the Apostles to carry on his work. At Pentecost they were blessed with the Holy Spirit (Acts) and went forth to build Christ’s Church.
He assigned them the task of preaching the gospel and making disciples.
HE has the authority and HE sent them out with that job.
So what do Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit was given for since they take credit for themselves for the work of the Holy Spirit. What's the Holy Spirit there for anyway, according to Catholics?
