Paul Crouch, who built what has been called the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has died. He was 79.

Trinity Broadcasting Network reported Saturday that Crouch died after a decade-long fight with degenerative heart disease.

A message was left for Crouch's grandson Brandon, who wrote about Crouch's death on his Twitter page.

He might have gotten everything else wrong, but if he got this one thing right - alone and by itself - then he’s with Jesus right now.

God tells us in Romans (chapter 10) ... “ ... if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Well God bless Paul Crouch. I'm sure he has a special place in Heaven. Many, many millions, maybe billions of people were saved and healed becasue of TBN.

One thing I loved about TBN is if you give to them, which we do, they don't constantly send out "gimme more" mailers. Instead they sent out monthly news updates on nice four-color informative brochures and regularly send out little gifts. I know of no other ministry that does this, but they should.

BTW, iTBN is a wonderful resource with a huge backlog of videos form a incredibly huge library of ministers.

TBN played a big part in the direction my life was going(they were instrumental in turning it back around the right way). God does work in mysterious ways.

Watch out! There are some people at the other (bigger) thread who will soon find their way over here to yell and scream and stomp their feet, and tell you how wrong you are.

:)

Thanks for putting things into perspective. I hated his telethons - they were often like freak shows, but he brought the message of salvation to the entire world through his TV empire. And many good ministries (and some bad) were brought to us via TBN.

I hope someone witnessed to him before he died.

Why would you say that?

He apparently didn’t know the gospel. His Jesus was another Jesus. His gospel, another gospel. And I take no joy in saying that. I believe false profession is the single largest issue in American “Christianity.” Millions are serious about playing church who don’t know Christ. Many of those false professors are standing behind pulpits. They teach in seminaries and they run well-known religious organizations. I can’t judge his soul, but I can judge the heretical message his network piped around the world and his lavish lifestyle. When Paul Crouch was confronted about grave theological errors on his networks he didn’t respond as a saved man concerned with preserving the purity of the Biblical message should. He responded as a worldly businessman concerned with preserving his empire.

He was the quintessential snake oil salesman. I’m stunned that anyone was taken in by him. How can a believer/practitioner of in faith healing die of a decade long illness? His wife was/is a cartoon character, a Dolly Parton wanna-be. The pair of them were utterly nauseating.

Thank you for your explanation. I don’t know about his soul. I don’t watch TBN much but I know that TBN promotes the prosperity gospel.

They were both cartoon characters. It must have been at least a dozen years since I saw them on TV (were they still on in recent days?), and I remember feeling embarrassed afterwards. It was on the intellectual level of Mr Rogers’ children’s program. And I remember distinctly that he said “We don’t need no theology!”, the double negative used not Ebonically, but to emphasize the negative meaning, the way somebody like Mick Jagger would do in song lyrics.

My guess is that he already knew Romans 10:9-10 ...

I’m sure he did. But was he born again? Did God work a miracle in his heart?

A lot of fraud was committed with the money accumulated. There are more details on the other thread along with pictures at the source.

Anyone who does this, I would say, might not know God.

Paul Crouch's Heresy

"Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:22,23)
