Ultimately It Is Christ Who Will Judge Us

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Christ the King. In the twenty-first century, the idea of a monarchy is not palatable to some. Although we may have an interest in what the royal family is doing (think of all the hoopla surrounding the wedding of William and Catherine), most of us probably would not like to bring back the monarchy to the United States.

In calling Christ our King, we acknowledge that Jesus is sovereign in our minds and hearts. He is the reason for our being. We owe Christ our allegiance, our worship, and our devotion. This last Sunday of the Church year is a reminder that ultimately we will be judged by God. Paul’s Letter to the Colossians highlights the reality that Christ is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, and is the cause of all things coming to be. In short, Christ is the gate through which all creation must pass in order to encounter God.

‘Scuse me! The “United States” never had a monarchy, so you cannot “bring it back”. Carry on!

Yes, a great reminder and timely post!

Psalm 2:12, “Kiss the Son lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little: Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23

It's probably a good idea that we take the time to actually get to know the One who will judge us. It's all about relationship, relationship, relationship. Just sayin'.

Jesus says several times in the Bible... “I do not come to judge, but to save.”

Actual judgement is done by the fire that will burn the weeds and anyone who is not filled with and raised up to the level of the Holy Spirit.

While we are alive Jesus is perfect mercy.

But at the moment of our death, Jesus become perfect justice.

Judgement is not imposed upon us. It is merely a direct consequence of our actions or in-actions. For the same reason that a prayerful blessing to an evil person is like placing hot coals upon their head, we cannot exist in the upcoming “Heaven on Earth” unless we to purify our souls.

The concept of rapture is merely us being purified and raised up to a level where we can exist but evil can not.

“But at the moment of our death, Jesus become perfect justice.”

No where will you find that in the Bible. Jesus is always unconditional Love. God is Love.

Just as perfect Love casts out evil, evil or sin cannot exist in the presence of Jesus. If by judgement you mean that evil cannot exist within perfect Love, then yes. But it is the individual’s actions or in-actions that create the consequences, not a judgement.

Go back and read Matthew 13 and the parable of the “tares in the wheat.” We have been asleep when the weeds were planted. Right now we are waking up and readying for the harvest. As such there is “global warming” as the increased presence of the Holy spirit is already burning some of the weeds.

We are truly entering a most wonderful time here on earth.

Are you familiar with the judgments that happen when one dies?

At the moment of our death — what we call “the particular” judgment (for that particular person.)

And, of course, the General Judgment when the sheep are separated from the goats.

This has been proven by many NDEs who saw their whole life flash in front of them and then were told that their time for death was not now.

While we are alive Jesus is perfect mercy. But at the moment of our death, Jesus become perfect justice.

Yes the two comings or advents of Christ. The mission of the first advent of Messiah, Jesus gives us here in Luke 4 as He quotes from Isaiah 61:

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[j] To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”[k]

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

The Second Coming (Advent) Jesus Christ comes as the conquering Messiah Who judges. We see this in Revelation and in Matthew 24. This is based on the OT prophecy from the same chapter of Isaiah 61:

And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

4 Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, They will raise up the former devastations; And they will repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.

“Are you familiar with the judgments that happen when one dies?”

Sounds like Hebrews 9:28... If my memory serves me correctly...

Not only am I familiar with the process but I experienced it in detail during my own death experience and return back here in my physical body. Ever since I can read these same stored memories in people just by being around them. It’s the same way that Jesus knew the thoughts and stored memories of life experiences of everyone around Him.

It’s a natural attribute of the conscious aware soul no longer being restricted to the bounds of the physical body. As it let’s go it expands outward in reverse sequence through the memories stored in the individual’s soul.

When a person is truly born of the spirit, they begin to have sensory stimulation and perception from their soul or spirit. It’s as much a curse as it is a blessing.

Thanks for the links....

I have had my own NDE back in 1988 and never came totally back into my body since then. I belong to the International NDE research group and have attended many of their conferences. Many of the presenters are my friends.

I can sort the real experiencer from the fake or partial experiencer in a second. Dr Mary Neal, the orthopedic spinal surgeon in Wyoming who died (drowned while underwater for 18+ minutes) and returned is a very real experience. She made a profound statement that is very true. Your NDE is not like a memory. Every time you retrieve the memory it is always a current experience.

I will reserve comment on Eben Alexander (Proof of Heaven) as I know him well and was with him and his birth family when he first told his story. Let’s just say that if the ego owns the experience it destroys the spiritual insights and connection gained during the experience.

We are truly entering a most wonderful time here on earth.

Last night Hannity had a panel of young people (the "millenial" generation) to discuss a wide range of issues. When he got to the moral issues every one of them, even those who said they were conservative, said legal pot is good for the nation; hardly any of them raised their hand to support a baby in the womb. If any did hold a Pro-Life view it was a "personal" view of their own and they felt others should have a "choice", which pretty much made the entire panel except for one young man, pro-abortion.

It was only a panel, but Hannity does a good job finding both sides for that panel. My main take away was not to look at these youngsters as conservative, liberal, moderate because their views to us were all over the map. The main take away was their "governing philosophy" or lack of any. They were all relativists. You could tell Hannity knew it because he started shaking his head at times.

But on issues of MONEY and wealth all but two were all for a flat tax, repealing Obamacare etc.

So the one thing they all pretty much agreed on was relativism and love of mammon.

Isaiah 5:20 coming to life in our Western world.

I do not read Jesus’ judgement in the scriptures you cite.

Forecasting what is coming and stating the consequences you will experience if you do not shape up is not judgement. It is factual truth.
