This was very beautiful; yesterday’s homily, also on the Church, sounded like something that could have been written by one of the Greek Fathers.
Finally something i disagree with the pope on and really appreciate it, otherwise i may be accused of defending the Catholic Church as i have been accused of defending the Mormon Church.
Although in rev it speaks of the Church as being a woman the
Gospels speaks of as being the Bride of Christ not children, the Church is made up of believers so in reality there would be no Church if there were no believers.
Luke 17
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Matthew 25
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Luke 8:20-21
And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
Christians are brothers and sisters of Christ rather than Children, God is the head of the house.
