In a press release that accompanied the statement, Christie said, “I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual,” quoting a statement he made on CNN. “My religion says [homosexuality is] a sin. But for me, I don’t” agree.

This is my issue with Governor Christie: no one is forcing him to be Roman Catholic. If I didn't agree with a religion's teaching on such a vital issue like sexuality, I wouldn't be part of that religion. I have more intellectual respect for pro-homosexual, pro-abortion atheists than I do for someone like him. Does anyone else here agree with me on this point?

Ya if he played it purely secular as a secular official that is one thing.

But to say he does not agree with his “chosen” or “inherited” faith, be it Roman Catholic or whatever sets him up as a heretic, like Pelosi, Biden, and Sebelius.

Choose this day whom ye shall serve.

Maybe they were all born with a predisposition to be heretics.

Exactly.

Indeed. Besides his religion teaches that everyone is born with a sinful predisposition, i.e., original sin, so that’s no excuse for Christie. If he and the others you mentioned hate being Catholic, no one if forcing them to be one so they should have the integrity to leave. The Episcopagans would be happy to have them I’m sure.

Don’t confuse foreknowledge with a lack of free will..

You lay a base, but we were not born to be condemned- we were born with a choice.

there is nothing here worth keeping, except to shelter and protect your household.

Knowing we will re-emerge on the other side places it in perspective.

“I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual...

So for arguments sake, if I was born with a predisposition to beat the life out of homosexuals then it is OK?

What’s odd is that Americans accept all kinds of therapy and counseling to adjust behaviors of all kinds - from addiction, to shyness, to infidelity to over-eating (hello mr. Christie)

Yet for some reason, we are supposed to believe that homosexuality is the one and only behavior which can never be adjusted through treatment?

Yes. Nor is a predisposition an excuse for a homosexual.

Some people have particular sinful predispositions like lying, cheating, stealing, and...sexual perversions including homosexuality.

We were created with free will to overcome our sinful predispositions. To say that we are slaves to our predispositions is to say that we are not men but animals.

They that deny a God destroy man's nobility; for certainly man's of kin to the beasts by his body; and if he be not of kin to God by his spirit; he is a base and ignoble creature.

So the homos want to prevent two consenting adults from participating in conversion therapy.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

That’s exactly what today’s secular left(Democrats and Republicans alike) believes about our species, i.e., that we are no better than animals.

You can’t selectively start tearing pages out of the Bible. You either have to believe the whole thing as the Word of God or the whole thing becomes just stories written by mere mortals.

Christie has made his position clear as a bell now. He believes he knows more than the scriptures about what qualifies as sin. That makes him the worst kind of unbeliever. It makes him a denier. It would be better for him if he never knew a word of the Gospel than to become a person who thinks he knows better than God.

He can pretend to be whatever he likes, but in reality he's a member of the largest religion in this country, The Church of Go Along to Get Along that rationalizes and accepts whatever the media says should be part of our "culture".

Fornication, adultery, smoking dope, tattoos, piercing, abortion, euthanasia, queers, they've all been rationalized and accepted by the majority of people who tell you they're Christian the same way over 95% of black folks voted for King Barry even though 85% claim to oppose abortion being as easily available as it is if at all.

Here is Christie’s statement on CNN:

“Well, my religion says it’s a sin,” Christie said on ‘Piers Morgan Tonight.’ “But for me, I don’t. I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual. And so, I think if someone is born that way, it’s very difficult to say then that that’s a sin. But I understand that my church says that. But for me personally, I don’ t look upon someone who is homosexual as a sinner.”

Actually, this shows that Christie does not understand Catholic teaching, so he’s just another not well catechized Catholic. The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual activity is a sin, not the inclination. The inclination is a disorder. However it is caused, an inclination to a particular type of sin is not sin itself.

So, if your kid tells you they want to be a Serial Killer because they were born that way, you shouldn’t be able to take them to a Shrink?
