I suspect that you are a disciple of your own mother and father, is that not correct? That especially if they have passed on, you have their pictures in a conspicuous place. We all have halls of fame in our lives, persons we honor out of affection or simply because they are persons of outstanding virtue. I do have a picture of Mary in my house, but I also have a very large Crucifix near the front door. It is because she is his mother that I honor her, the person incarnate of the Virgin Mary. that I honor her,

No, that is not correct. I certainly have not considered nor called myself such.

I do have a picture of Mary in my house, but I also have a very large Crucifix near the front door.

These sound very much like graven images. I cannot imagine Jesus or the Disciples having such adornment in their houses nor will they be in Heaven.

Thanks for that. This subject which seems to be such a polarizing thing with some Protestants truly puzzles me. I admire them for insisting that Jesus is the center of their faith; but on the other hand, they misconstrue the Catholic position on honoring the Mother of Jesus.

When Jesus was going through is passion and death, who was the faithful servant? His Mother Mary and a few of her women friends and John; When Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, what words did Elizabeth use to greet her?, “blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb”, and “who am I that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?” “the moment that I heard your voice, the infant in my womb leaped for joy!”

It is proper for Christians to understand the central role that Mary played in our salvation. It is insulting the God the Father to think that He, who is Almighty, would be careless in who he would entrust his Son to?; would God conceive of having the Holy Son of God become flesh through a sinful vessel?

GOD THE FATHER honored Mary with the privilege of being the Mother of the Redeemer, the Mother of Jesus, the Mother of our Savior. He created her; He chose her; He gave her to all mankind as our Mother when he died, “Behold your Mother.”
