Only God is holy. Although we are made holy by God, it is imputed to us. Even the angels do not presume to be holy.
So the question is should we be praying to anyone (or anything) that is not truly holy?

So the question is should we be praying to anyone (or anything) that is not truly holy? "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. " (Psalms 62:5-6)
"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, " (Hebrews 10:19)
...to meet directly with God, not via saintly sectaries. Now to do so better.

(Come to the Lord Jesus as a contrite damned+destitute sinner, trust Him to save you, then live 4 Him)

Nicely put. Effective and tactful.
