It is that simple. He gave us choice. Obviously because we often make the wrong one.

A gift given under duress is payment or tribute, not a gift at all.

A gift given freely without expectation, is the greatest gift of all.

What possibly could we make/give to the One that created everything, and owns all?

Only our Love. Because he gave it to us, it is ours to give back, to share and increase with one another.
