I failed to mention that I was the senior warden of the oldest Episcopal church in west Tennessee, 1832.
At the last convention that I attended I felt like I was in another world...It was no longer the denomination that I
grew up in.

I was a member myself many moons ago. Left quite awhile and was only back for my Father’s funeral. The lesbian priestess was going to refuse to hold it there, until I politely spoke up and told her, that if they weren’t willing to host it, that the Catholic church down the street where I attended was perfectly happy to do so.

We ended up getting the reverend that was kicked out of the parish to run the show, since he knew our family and knew my father. She was not impressed, but what was she supposed to do? Tell the congregation that the man who built up the congregation wasn’t welcome to officiate?

THat was the last time I darkened those doorsteps, and I’m very thankful for my cousins who were ushers. Everything went well thanks to their help, because we were certainly in no shape to run the show ourselves.
