I would not use the term “cultural” to describe a Catholic, or any other Christian, who is driven by faith. I suggest “traditional” might be a better choice of word.

By cultural Catholic, I am talking about people who can't part with the coming of age and celebratory aspects of Catholicism (Christening, Confirmation, church wedding, Christmas carols), but who otherwise reject the tenants of the faith.

Are they just renting the tenets of the faith until they find a permanent set of beliefs?
