First Day: April 6,2012

Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever. Amen.

Thank you—beginning this devotion today which we/I need now more than ever. There are many beautiful videos on Youtube
with music, visuals—not that these things are necessary for the novena. I found a series that uses “The Passion of the Christ” movie behind the recitation of the chaplet which I find moving.
Easter blessings to you.

Thank you ever so much for this post!

I have been busy as I am sure you have with events and Holy Masses this week, misplaced my novena prayers and nearly forgot!

Then YOU posted this, complete with prayers of the day! Thank you. I am trying to have a well disciplined Holy Week and this was a good part of my efforts. Thanks.

Gotcha locked in “favorites”.

BTW, do you happen to know the Holy Father’s intentions for April? Many thanks.

Actually I can’t go to Mass because I have a broken foot and can’t see the doctor until next week when the swelling goes down.

This is one Easter I will remember, but try to forget! LOL!

I went to bed last night and cried because I couldn’t be at the altar of repose. It’s usually the priest and me that are still there when it’s time to close it down.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear of your broken foot!

One never knows, however, from what our Lord may be sparing you by keeping you home, with just enough temporary debilitation to get you rested up and back to your beloved Alter.

Have a very blessed Easter near the venerable Cross in your heart.

Love, Rita

Thank you! There is a >Plenary Indulgence available on Divine Mercy Sunday.

I see lots of folks worrying about their bodies & they eat ‘healthy & exercise.’ Seems to me, most of us folks need more “vitamins, exercise & food” for our souls.

I got enough homework! But seems to me, God provides for Indulgences for the benefit of the soul & to help us get into Heaven.

I prayed for a speedy recovery. I hope the pain wasn’t too bad.

I want to say, “It helps if you >offer it up!” But, after I got all the >homework, I might not sound very sincere.

May God Bless you.

My girls loved that they got a Plenary Indulgence for the Rosary that was said on Good Friday AND could give one to the poor souls from Stations.

God is good.

This is so beautiful. The closing prayer is such a blessing!

Eternal Father in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion is inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us so that in difficult times we may not dispair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your Holy Will which is love and mercy itself.

I cannot begin to number the times when life and difficult situations have arisen and this uttered prayer was a lifesaver mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

God truly answers.

May your ankle heal quickly! I’m sorry you won’t be racing after any Easter eggs tomorrow.

That is nice. = The Rosary is a good family prayer.
I have a booklet that contains ‘The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary’ given to Saint Dominic & Blessed Alan. Underneath the promises is an Imprimatur: Patrick J. Hayes D.D., Archbishop of New York.

Praying the Rosary daily&devoutly can get someone & those they love into Heaven. That’s a = Real Good Prayer.

I can’t find Saint Louis de Montfort’s book right now. But in it, he says something like,’It’s not possible to devoutly pray the Rosary daily & persist in mortal sin. One is given up.’ = real good promise.

‘The Handbook of Indulgences Norms and Grants’ = from The Church. #48, Recitation of the Marian Rosary.
“A Plenary Indulgence is granted when the rosary is recited in a church or oratory or when it is recited in a >family, a religious community, or a pious association. A partial indulgence is granted for its recitation in all other circumstances.”

IN The Norms:#3 ‘No one gaining an indulgence may apply it to other living persons.’ #4, ‘Both partial and plenary indulgences can always be applied to the dead as suffrages.’ #20-2 ‘Actually to gain indulgences the person must have at least the general intention of doing so and must perform the acts enjoined at the time stipulated and in the manner required according to the tenor of the grant.’

#63 Stations of the Cross in the Handbook of Indulgences sets out its requirements. Another real good prayer. I seem to choose the Rosary as it’s a real Blessing & can be prayed anywhere. While, the Via Dolorosa is very explicit about >suffering. Dang, does it sound like I like cafeteria-food? Maybe the ‘Sorrowful Mysteries’ need to be prayed more devoutly.

I’m sure you already know all of this, But I thought I’d write it out for any other Christian that may wander into this comment section.

Second Day: April 7, 2012

Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me strength to endure My bitter Passion. Through them as through channels My mercy flows out upon mankind.

Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service,* that they may perform worthy works of mercy; and that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company of chosen ones in Your vineyard—upon the souls of priests and religious; and endow them with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation and with one voice sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end. Amen.

Thanks for the prayers. I had a bone scan for osteoperosis, but never received the results. All I did was get up out of a chair and turn my ankle.

Anyway, lots of spiritual Communions this Easter weekend.
