Faith that has no foundation is foolishness not faith...
The Muslims have faith there are 12 virgins waiting for them in heaven if they kill for allah..
The Mormons have faith that Joseph Smith found plates of gold and that temple worthy males will be gods with their own planets
Our faith is to stand on solid ground..God left evidence of His truths so that men might have assurity in their faith
"The bereans were applauded for checking those things they were taught as true against the scriptures.. they wanted a founded faith...
Act 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Peter advises us
1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
We do not have a God that wishes to keep secret who hides who He is or how He works . He has left historic evidence in His word ..and he left NO historic evidence of much of the doctrine of men /tradition .. of Catholicism..
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.
And we have the Methodist to thank for that, keeping, compiling, copying protecting.. throughout history...
