HAGIOLOGY

The science of the saints. Theological investigation and interpretation of the saintly men and women whom the Church honors with public veneration. Its function is to analyze the spirituality of these persons and apply its findings to serve the needs of the faithful in their own pursuit of Christian holiness. (Etym.
