A group of Omaha pastors has issued a proclamation that states homosexuality is not a sin.
More than 100 ordained Christian ministers have signed the proclamation, including leaders from Lutheran, Episcopalian, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and Presbyterian churches.
David Bydalek is executive director of Family First, the family policy council for the state of Nebraska. He deems this effort troubling for many Nebraskans and contends the ministers involved are from liberal denominations that do not respect the orthodox biblical teaching on homosexuality.

” The largest U.S. mainline churches are sometimes referred to as the Seven Sisters of American Protestantism. “ <<<
Thank you for graciously clearing that up for me.

"As time goes on and various Christian denominations adopt clearly anti-Christian doctrine, it solidifies that the only Church which the Lord instituted is the Roman Catholic Church."I beg to differ. The "Church," "the Bride of Christ," "the body of Christ" is not located in Rome specifically. It is not an institution originated by men. It is all those who are born-again of the Holy Spirit by the will of God.
They are scattered throughout every denomination and every church building, home, and heart where Jesus Christ has been received as Lord and Savior. They are the wheat among the tares.

That’s why I asked. Had I not seen Glenn Beck and latter day in the same sentence, I wouldn’t have. Since I couldn’t read the whole story, I thought I missed something (I didn’t see a reference to any of what you mentioned in the excerpt).
So what did I miss? Who’s the black robed regiment, some of the above pastors from the said denominations backing this?

The phrase 'latter day' refers to 'more modern times' ... even though LDS inc has tried to make it their sole use.
James Barton, Historian extraordinaire, has written on the subject. I recvcommend his ten disc series on the founders and the birth of this Republic. Here's a good place to start for learning what the Original Black Robed Regiment was. Aftwer that you'll have to google Glenn Beck's use of the term for a latter day brigade.

"Homosexuality" as in a same sex attraction, if treated like any other kind of temptation and resisted, is not a sin. But giving in to the desire, or even "entertaining" it IS a sin.
Doesn't matter what these reprobates "proclaim".

From most things I have read, simply suffering from same sex attraction is not necessarily a sin, while acting on those urges is.

This is why my wife and I read the bible, pray together and do so at home.Seems to me the bible says something about not failing to gather together (with other Christians). Maybe you should invite other like minded individuals to join you on a regular basis and have a sort of home church.
Many "modern" churches are nothing more than country clubs or social experiments.
Agreed. But there are good ones out there. Also, there are some individual churches within the denominations mentioned in this article that are very much part of the "confessing" movement (meaning adherent to the scriptures).
It can take some time to find a good church fellowship, but it is something the Lord expects us to do.

This is good news. At this rate, Murder will be given a pass by next year. Then I will really be able to "take out the trash" with a clear conscience. Thank you Progressive, Commie Pinko Pastors. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

I sure would hate to be one of them when judgment time arrives. For people who call themselves religious leaders, God holds to a greater responsibility. Unless they repent and ask forgiveness for condoning sin, their future in eternity does not look very promising!
