No debate of any kind is allowed on prayer or devotional threads.
Caucus threads are labeled, e.g. "Catholic Caucus" "Reformed Caucus" "Dispensationalist Caucus" and only members are to post. They are like church meetings held behind closed doors. Do not disturb.
No antagonism is allowed on RF threads labeled "ecumenical."
All other Religion Forum threads are "open" by default. Anyone may post for or against. It is a town square format and can become very contentious.

Saint Anthony has always been very special to me. His intercession has ALWAYS enabled me to find anything that was missing. If I remember correctly, he was such an anointed preacher that, after his death, his tongue remained incorrupt.
The Communion of Saints is a GREAT treasure of the Church! ;-)
Poor St. Anthony gets worn out from getting called on by me for help with lost objects, but he always comes through. :) Even my Protestant husband will ask if I have called on St. Anthony.
Great story: Years ago, during my teaching career, a young colleague came into my room after school in search of a misplaced grade book. I hardly knew him, but a hunch had me ask him if he was Catholic. He told me, “No, but I was raised Catholic”. When he indicated that he would not do so, I told him. as he was leaving the room, that I would pray to St. Anthony on his behalf.
Seconds later, he came in astonished at having found the grade book in a place where he had looked several times.
Some days after this incident, he had misplaced his wallet at home and was tearing his house apart looking for it. In the meantime, he got a call from his grandmother, the woman who had raised him Catholic. He said that she told him to pray to St. Anthony. He was annoyed and told her she sounded like “a woman I work with” (me). But he related that after he got off the phone he fell to his knees and asked for our dear saint’s help. And, of course, St. Anthony came through again.
Now this is ironic:

The fellow needs to know that he is the person who is lost. He is a baptized Catholic and needs to come back to the church. He IS a Catholic — just not an active one.
Well, he had some other issues, as well. I hope he did overcome all of it and eventually came back to the Church. But I have no way of knowing, as I taught at that school for only one year, and it was about 15 years ago.
Oh I have so many St. Anthony stories. He never fails me...
Good News: AP is reporting that prayers have been answered for the safe return of an ancient relic of St. Anthony stolen from a church near LA.
