The Bible speaks of a time to come in the "last days" that will involve the whole world at war. Jesus himself says in Matthew 24 that in that war everyone on earth would die unless God himself stepped in. II Timothy 3:1 calls these last days "perilous times", and they are.

I see a qualifier in that passage. The word unless. So will he step in? And if he doesn't, what good does it do me to worry about it if we are all going to die anyhow?

I've always tried to figure that out. I mean, if there is nothing I can do to prevent whatever is going to happen, then why do I need to get all worked up about it?

If there is nothing I can do to prevent whatever is going to happen, then why do I need to get all worked up about it?

Well the actual final war will not happen real soon...rather after several other events occur....so the idea is to be certain you and your loved ones, friends and acquaintances are "safely in the ark of Christ". The 'warning' IS surely being sounded now....and that before it is too late.

Also because God did say there would be a time of deception...which we see growing stronger in this generation..where man would turn away from God to "other" Gods. It's a good idea to discover now what God might desire of each individual from a personal perspective...because the deception coming will trick even the brightest among men.

One needs to be aware once these deceptions take hold entirely man will find it very difficult to appeal to the true God.... Deceptions which at one time never would have been acknowledged are now mainstream thought and acceptance. Cult practices are creeping into the churches etc...and the enemy of freedom has already infilitrated our government and borders.

So I this as God slowly removing His Spirit's influence from our society.....just as he slowly left the temple of Israel after warning them to turn to Him and away from their sin. They didn't and we know what happened after that. The United States, as a Christian Nation and light to the world....is following Israel's steps which once wiped them out and scattered them among the nations. So too are we following that same path.
