I’ve had almost identical experiences on two separate occasions and both times in different bar/lounge settings. One was the elderly man you mention; his eyes were like black dead-pools; the second, a younger man, who challenged me, i.e. called me out, inviting me to argue with him. When I went to leave he called me “father” as if mistaking me for a priest.
Because of my own experiences I do not doubt you!!! Amen!! Praise Jesus!!
Also it means you are a worthy servant of the Lord. To be tested!! Amen!!!
