Do you ever run across a familiar scripture only to be stunned by the immense beauty of the treasure that has always been there at the surface, but somehow was hidden during your previous journeys? When your eyes finally catch glimpse of it, you stand and stare astounded by the discovery that had just been opened to you. How could I have missed this gem?
Did you see it? Its only three letters so it is easily overlooked. Look again. H-A-D. He had to do it. He didnt opt for it. He didnt think it best to do it. He didnt eenie meenie minie moe it. He had to do it. God considered it an obligation of Himself to be like me and like you!
But why? He became like us so that He who delights in mercy might be merciful. In becoming like me, He knows better how to help me. He had to do it in order to best aid us in our struggle.
What an amazing God we serve!
God in heaven, thank you so much for loving me enough to do all that was necessary to provide aid in our journey. Help me, Lord, to fix my thoughts on You for hope and strength. Amen
Micah 7:18-19 (New King James Version) 18 Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. 19 He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.
From Geneses 1:1 to Revelations 22:21 the Bible screams “He had to do it”
