Last year, the Lord nudged me to make a list of the people I hated and was holding grudges against. Then, to narrow it down to 5, and to pray for them daily, for my Lenten fast. It was a lovely Lent — one of the women, I found out about a week after I started, had been struggling with breast cancer. Another came up to me during that year;I mentioned that I had been praying for her. What do you know? She had been fighting a battle herself to watch her rude words, and was so touched that I had been praying.
It was a powerful fast.
I am one of those who plans to give up FR for Lent.
