"Since their beliefs are based on THEIR INTERPRETATION OF God's Word"

There; all fixed now!

Beliefs never change? Seems like a lot of Anglicans are converting to Catholicism because of changed Anglican beliefs...

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself (Luke 10:27).

So the second part "and thy neighbor" is optional, if your neighbor is a Catholic. Got it- thanks!

BTW I am in that anathema from trent, but it does not bother me a bit..:)

I believe the anathemas from Trent have been clarified and are not considered to be permanent on people who were never properly catechized (e.g. a real Christian who truly understood Church teaching would never leave).

This might help explain:

Anathemas - are they the kiss of death for ecumenism?

I went all through catholic schools including college.. I taught at women's retreats.. ... I understood catholic doctrine Wag.. so that exclusion would not wash me out :)

When I read trent.. I fall fully under the curses.. but they are powerless against Christ...

Has any man (other than Christ) kept THAT law?

Rabbi Akiva, for one.

You left out my post where I said the initial grace is not something we do to get. I don’t have time now to explain the theology of Grace. But will post you a handy definition. Oh I should have used the term Sacramental instead of Sanctifying. The Sanctifying Grace is the initial grace. I switched my terms up.

This explains Sanctifying Grace. If you don’t have any doctrine of Theosis it will be nonsense to you.

Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life.46

1997 Grace is a participation in the life of God. It introduces us into the intimacy of Trinitarian life: by Baptism the Christian participates in the grace of Christ, the Head of his Body. As an “adopted son” he can henceforth call God “Father,” in union with the only Son. He receives the life of the Spirit who breathes charity into him and who forms the Church.

1998 This vocation to eternal life is supernatural. It depends entirely on God’s gratuitous initiative, for he alone can reveal and give himself. It surpasses the power of human intellect and will, as that of every other creature.47

1999 The grace of Christ is the gratuitous gift that God makes to us of his own life, infused by the Holy Spirit into our soul to heal it of sin and to sanctify it. It is the sanctifying or deifying grace received in Baptism. It is in us the source of the work of sanctification:”

DOn't you know that? Say, weren't you the guy who asked if the Pope had ever washed any man's feet and refused to believe it even when told it happens each Maundy Thursday?

Hey, next time you see a line forming where they pass out honesty, rush to the front of the line.

excommunicate themselves through their own actions (this has been true since the time of Judas).

What church did Judas excommunicate himself from?

I'm unclear on some of the posting standards. Would Cronos' post constitute a personal attack? He said "Iscool" is a "cult of one" and the "cult-leader is a moron."

I'm not so worried about Cronos even tho he gets away with things the rest of us would not...

I read enough scripture to know that while he may be very religious, his rants are not the marks of a Christian...I suspect there are many Lurkers who come to the same conclusion...

It’s still good to draw attention to perceived hypocrisy.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I thought calling someone a moron was “making it personal.” Is calling someone a moron on the religion forum acceptable now?

Hmm,...

I can just imagine the fallout if we called the pope a cult leader and moron.

I would ask if the offender has excommunicated himself why the need of a formal process of excommunication?

I’m pretty sure that if we did what Cronos did, and called Cronos a moron, we’d get a warning.
