Interesting response for two reasons, one because while Markham was a great poet he was hardly scriptural though I would love to draw a circle you can be in, but there heresies have to stay parked outside.

Second, you saying anything abut a religious “test” is ironic...

BTW there is no test in regard to my post, it's like a light switch, its on or its off...

And context is everything, for example the term Brother in the bible when Jesus or the apostles were teaching...

Remember:

One-way mirrors work the OTHER way, when the lighting is reversed!

The poem IMHO is about changing ourselves to love others on the hopes that they will learn from that love, not if you change I will love you.

c am promoting putting our religion to the test recommended by the Bible. Let me make this as clear as I can God offered a way to know if something is his or not, I recommend taking God's word over anyone else’s.

As a programmer, let me inform you that on and off is a test...

Context is always important, we must be in tune with God, not the other way around.

Are you seriously promoting that the self same Jesus who taught that your neighbor is a man by the side of the road When Is considered a heretic is your neighbor thinks that one who sincerely believes in him is not your brother? Even your brother In Christ?

I would hope that your context for religion.
