Well hold on there...These are folks who willfully reject the teaching of your religion...They flat out reject your religion...
Well, if you want to reject Christianity and follow a "pastor's" version of Manichaenism or Islam-lite or Mormonism, that's your choice. We'll remain true to Christ's teachings as we have for the past 2000 years.

It doesn't look like there is anything to get wrong on those two scriptures. One clearly says "In the name of The Father The Son and The Holy Ghost". The other clearly says "In The Name of Jesus Christ".
Yes there are lots of ignorant people about, distorting scripture, in order to build a faith on the very distortions they commit.
God gives us the ability, through the Holy Spirit as our guide, to lead us into His truths. what is needed is the Holy Spirit as our authority on understanding His Word. not the Church.

Obviously, a Catholic who doesn't know his faith is going to be easy pickings for you guys. How can he refute your attacks on his faith if he doesn't even know his faith? Could a conservative refute liberal attacks on the Constitution without knowing the Constitution? Of course not.
Well put -- though, the anti-Church folks have made us stronger with some easily refutable statements. I notice in places like S. America, Philippines and India, the targets of these non-Church cults like the Pentecostals of Benny Hinn etc. tended to be elderly ladies who were not taught adequately in the faith.

So Catholics can’t go to a Yoga class? That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. I’ll have to tell my wife that one (she goes to Yoga 3 times a week)
“Forgive me Father for I have sinned...I did 3 Downward Facingn Dogs, 2 Crows, 1 Cobra, and 3 One-Legged King Pigeon Poses this week...”
Will I now suffer the fires of hell?
To: UriÂ’el-2012
My feeling too.
Though I do have a fascination with AUTHENTIC older stuff and wonder if there’s any AUTHENTIC shadings or insights or nuances that might be involved.
I am also aware that the evil one has lots of motivation to stage hoaxes etc. even millenia long ones . . . to discredit the AUTHENTIC WORD OF GOD.

that will not be a schism. Anyone who accepts any one of the 4 points you said, is no longer Christian. You cannot say Christ was just one of many gods and remain Christian. You cannot endorse abortion and remain Christian. These folks who do that can join the ECUSA, while we will gladly welcome the true traditionalist Anglicans

I’ve known one fairly saintly Christian from India who did only the exercises of a morning.
Perhaps he had no spiritual risk involved in his doing so. He did have a wonderful relationship with Jesus.
Personally, I’ve seen enough horror stories spiritually and psychologically from dabbling in yoga, I want to steer far away from it. I’m not interested in seeing how close I can safely come to evil, deception, bondage.

Those countries, bastions of Roman Catholicism, are third world hell holes.
Poverty is rife, class systems abound, and Catholicism is mixed with superstition, which is a bigger indicator of not being taught adequately in their faith than just elderly ladies are.

Lots of lawless men and errors these days. Thank the Lord He built a Church to guide us, and didn't leave us to our own personal fallible interpretations of scripture. Then how'd the RCC miss the boat with corrupt papacies and stuff like the Inquisition?
Where's the justification of that kind of behavior for people who don't toe the doctrinal line?

It would appear that being validly baptized by Trinitarian formula only guarentees that you are a member of the Roman "church". You will not have salvation until you ask YHvH for His salvation
Exactly.

To: metmom
PRECISELY.
Water baptism guarantees a person membership in the RCC. It does NOTHING toward salvation. It is Christ's Finished Work and our acceptance of THAT which SAVES.
To: Quix
Do note, when I said "We'll remain true to Christ's teachings as we have for the past 2000 years", I was referring to us Christians and to Christ's Church. Cults like The Word of Faith and other way out "Pent-a-costal" movement with Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyer etc where it talks about multiple gods and other strange beliefs, have only been around for less than a century.
Don't worry about them -- they will wither away too, but Christ's Church, the Apostolic Catholic and Orthodox Church, will remain, graced by God and protected by the Holy Spirit
