NOTE: The Book of Mormon also states that God is a spirit: "And the king said: Is god that Great Spirit that brought our fathers our of the land of Jerusalem? GOD	LDS GOD IS A POLYGAMIST "Each succeeding generation of gods follow the example of the preceding ones: each generation have their wives who raise up from the fruit of their loins immortal spirits: when their families become numerous, they organize new worlds for them... ...they place their families upon the same..."" (LDS) Prophet Brigham Young, Deseret News, June 18, 1873, p. 308	BIBLE GOD IS NOT MARRIED The Bible is silent regarding the issue of God having a wife or God having many wives. God never mentions a marriage in heaven and Jesus Christ never addresses the issue, even though Mormons consider marriage in heaven and polygamous marriages to be an absolute necessity in order to obtain the highest exaltation to godhood. God never mentions marriage or polygamy in relation to exaltation in the Old Testament and Jesus Christ never mentions marriage or polygamy in relation to exaltation in the New Testament. In point of fact, Jesus Christ notes that there is no marriage whatsoever in heaven in relation to angels and human beings: "But Jesus answered and said to them, 'You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.'" Matthew 22:29-30 (NAS).
GOD	LDS GOD CANNOT CREATE FROM NOTHING "..god never had the power to create the spirit of man at all." (LDS) Prophet, president and seer, Joseph Smith, Journal of discourses, 1844, Vol. 6, p. 7  "Further, latter-day prophets inform us that God did not create the earth out of nothing, as is supposed by much of traditional Christianity today. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught: 'There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter' (D&C 131:7; see also D&C 93:33). Elder Orson Pratt of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles commented: 'The materials out of which this earth was formed, are just as eternal as the materials of the glorious personage of the Lord himself. . . . This being, when he formed the earth, did not form it out of something that had no existence, but he formed it out of materials that had an existence from all eternity: they never had a beginning, neither will one particle of substance now in existence ever have an end. There are just as many particles now as there were at any previous period of duration, and will be while eternity lasts. GOD	LDS GOD IS ONLY ONE OF AN INFINITUDE OF GODS "After men...have become gods...they have the power then of propagating their species in spirit; and that is the first of their operations with regard to organizing a world. Power is then given to them to organize the elements, and then commence the organization of tabernacles. how can they do it? Have they to go to that earth? Yes, an Adam will have to go there, and he cannot do without Eve; he must have Eve to commence the work of generation, and they will go into the garden, and continue to eat and drink of the fruits of the corporeal world, until this grosser matter is diffused sufficiently through their celestial bodies to enable them, according to the established laws, to produce mortal tabernacles for their spiritual children." JESUS CHRIST	LDS JESUS CHRIST LIVED ON ANOTHER PLANET BEFORE COMING TO EARTH "Things were first created spiritually, the Father actually begat the spirits, and they were brought forth and lived with Him. Then He commenced the work of creating earthly tabernacles, precisely as he had been created in this flesh himself, by partaking of the course (sic) material that was organized and composed this earth, until His system was charged with it, consequently the tabernacles of His children were organized from the coarse materials of this earth. When the time came that His first born, the Saviour, should come into the world and take a tabernacle, the Father came himself and favoured that spirit with a tabernacle instead of letting any other man do it. The Saviour was begotten by the Father of His spirit, by the same Being who is the Father of our spirits, and that is all the organic difference between Jesus Christ and you and me." BIBLE JESUS CHRIST LIVED IN HEAVEN BEFORE COMING TO EARTH "'No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.'" JESUS CHRIST	LDS JESUS CHRIST WAS PHYSICALLY CONCEIVED BY GOD THE FATHER "The birth of the Savior was a natural occurrence unattended with any degree of mysticism, and the Father God was the literal parent of Jesus in the flesh as well as in the spirit." Joseph Fielding Smith, Jr, Religious Truths Defined, p. 44.  "Christ was begotten of God. He was not born without the aid of Man, and that Man was God!" (LDS) Prophet, president and seer Joseph Fielding Smith,Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 18. "And Christ was born into the world as the literal Son of this Holy Being; he was born in the same personal, real, and literal sense that any mortal son is born to a mortal father. There is nothing figurative about his paternity; he was begotten, conceived and born in the normal and natural course of events." (LDS) Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 1979, p. 742. NOTE: Mormons believe that God the Father procreated the spirit of Mary in time passed on his planet by means of a literal, physical and sexual union with one of His wives. He He also had a literal, physical and sexual union with Mary in order to father Jesus Christ, which means that God the Father had an incestuous relationship with Mary in order to bring about the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also claimed that God the Father was also married to Mary, which it is claimed legitimizes the incestuous relationship. It is also apparent that God the Father engaged in polyandry** by marrying Mary who was already espoused to Joseph. **Polyandry is defined as having two or more husbands at the same time. In the case of Mary she would have been espoused to Joseph, which was considered to be a marriage, and also married to God the Father. It is unknown by any Mormon prophet as to what temple the marriage of God the Father and Mary took place by which it was legitimized, because marriages were not performed in the Jewish temple. SEE: The Article, THE FATHER OF JESUS CHRIST	BIBLE JESUS CHRIST WAS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT "The angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy child shall be called the So of God.'" Holy Bible, Luke 1:35 (NAS) "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. . . . But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the child who has been conceived in her is of the Holly Spirit.'" Holy Bible, Matthew 1:18, 20 (NAS) NOTE: Mormons reject a Trinitarian godhead and postulate a singular personage of god with a physical body and the ability to procreate by sexual union. As a consequence they are left with the only possible manner in which Jesus Christ could have been conceived and that is by an immoral, incestuous relationship of God the Father with his own daughter Mary and shatters the biblical claim that Mary was still a virgin after her conception. Orthodox Christians are not faced with that difficulty, because they do not believe that the conception of Jesus Christ was a sexual act, but was a creative act by which the Holy Spirit as an equal and representative member of the singular godhead caused to exist within the womb of Mary the elements of the physical body of Jesus Christ, which also preserves the claim that Mary was a virgin even after her conception. Mormons attempt to justify the actions of their god by stating that he married Mary, therefore the sexual act was legal, however, since Mary then married Joseph after the birth of Jesus Christ, she then became a polyanderer because she was married to two husbands at the same time. Even if Mormons could produce Scriptural evidence of a marriage between their god and Mary, which they cannot, that would not change the incestuous nature of his conduct The second attempt to justify the actions of their god, causes Mormons to propose that he can declare his act to be moral or immoral depending on the circumstances. That is the reasoning that they use to claim that David and Solomon were justified for practicing polygamy. The conflict between that belief and the fact that the Book of Mormon condemns David and Solomon for polygamy is said to be resolved by the claim that in one instance they engaged in that conduct on their own, which was condemned, while on the other hand they engaged in that conduct by the direct command of God by which they were justified. The Mormon god changes his own moral code at will in order to cover his own actions.
JESUS CHRIST	LDS JESUS CHRIST BECAME A GOD IN THE PRE-EXISTENCE "During his pre-mortal life Jesus Christ rose to the status of Godhood. At that time he was foreordained to be the Savior of this world. Father Abraham was privileged to see in vision the grand council in heaven that was held prior to the peopling of this earth, and he saw, as the Lord showed him, 'many of the noble and great ones.'" (LDS) Milton R. Hunter, of the First Council of the Seventy, LDS Conference Report, October 1949, p. 69. NOTE: It is a mystery how Jesus Christ could have achieved godhood during the time of His pre-existent life, since He had not as yet gone through the successive experiences that the Mormon church says are absolutely necessary to be qualified to attain that position. Jesus Christ obtained His godhood prior to living His mortal life, prior to being married (without being married in the Temple), prior to having children, prior to having a polygamous relationship, prior to His physical death and prior to His resurrection. The same problem exists in relation to the Holy Ghost, who never obtained a mortal body, but also became a god in His pre-existent life. LDS theology has no explanation as to how Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit obtained their godhoods, when God the Father had to go through the full course of successive experiences in the "Eternal Progression" to obtain His godhood.	BIBLE JESUS CHRIST HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOD "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being." JESUS CHRIST	LDS JESUS CHRIST, SATAN and ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS "We were born as spirits, and we dwelt in the presence of our Eternal Parents; we lived before our mortal birth. As spirits we were in all respects as we are now save only that we were not housed in mortal bodies as is the present circumstance. Christ was the Firstborn of all the heavenly host; Lucifer [Satan - ed.}was a son of the morning: each of us came into being as conscious identities in our appointed order; and Christ is our Elder Brother." BIBLE JESUS CHRIST IS NOT RELATED BY PATERNITY TO SATAN OR HUMAN BEINGS Jesus Christ existed as part of the Trinitarian godhead from eternity, therefore He was not procreated by means of a sexual union between God the Father and Mary, and is not a part of the human race from that standpoint. In Orthodox Christian theology, the spirits of human beings are not procreated sexually by a union between God the Father and His many wives, but they are created. Jesus Christ was neither procreated or created. Satan was a created angelic being, therefore he is not related to human beings. What I found fascinating about this listing is the number of Mormon doctrines that correspond to the Pagan doctrines of the Greeks and Romans. Multitude of gods, gods having physical bodies, men becoming gods (e.g. Julius Caesar), God the Father having a father himself (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, etc.), no creation ex nihil, polygamy for all (especially the gods).

By all means, read every word of this, then if you really want to know if this is on the up and up, investigate it on your own. Put forth a little effort and you can find every single one of these “Reasons” addressed. They are nothing new.

Post some information that refutes what was posted instead of your "same old and tired propaganda". Address some of the "deceptions" for us PD. Show us in the Bible where it states that man can become a god like the D&C states. That should be an easy "deception" to address.

As to PD's plea for seeking out the truth, I wholeheartedly agree.

Compare ALL of mormonism's teachings and history (not just the Book of Mormon) to that in the Bible and discuss it with someone you trust that has an intimate knowledge of Biblical scripture. Your Pastor, Preacher, Elder, dad, mom, etc. Invite the mormon missionaries to engange in discussion with the person you're discussing this with and see how it goes.

Do not trust your feelings, test the claims in ALL of the LdS scriptures and doctrine.

This includes; the BoM, the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible (The one the LDS do not have copyright control over, yet, was Joseph Smith's attempt to modify the Holy Bible to make it conform to his teachings because it was supposedly translated incorrectly.), the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, The Journal of Discourses, the Book of Abraham (which JS supposedly translated and claimed was a lost biblical manuscript but is nothing more than an Egyptian funeral text),the monthly Ensign magazine, the monthly Friends magazine, etc., etc.

Check and see if their prophets pass the tests of a true prophet as defined in the Bible.

Yes, the "truth" is out there, but it's not found within mormonism.
