Esau Sells His Birthright for a Bowl of Soup
by the 17th Century Painter Hendrick Terbrugghen, 1625

Oh LORD, Our God, How Excellent is Your Holy Name!
How Wonderful,
How Perfect,
and How Hallowed!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise and Worship,
For You Alone Are The Most High God,
The One True God Of Abraham!
We Thank You For Your Most Holy Word,
Which is So Righteous and True,
And So Enlightening in these Troubled and Perilous Times.
We Thank You For Documenting the Origins of Your People,
and of the people Surrounding Them,
So That WE can get a clearer picture of why there is so much hatred in that part of the world.

23. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Since Esau was also called "Edom" we can infer that the present-day Jordanians are the descendants of Esau.
Abba, they are STILL Struggling with each other to this day!

30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

31. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

32. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

33. And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

34. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Father, we Pray that neither Israel nor we ourselves shall EVER sell out Our Holy God-Given Birthright for the sake of that which is expedient!
Even if it seems as though we are STARVING for a handout, Please LORD, let us NEVER Give Up or Give in!
For later on in the Book of Malachi, You Tell us that YOU despised Esau for doing this!
We can't imagine you despising ANYBODY, but if this is the thing that can cause the Wrath of God to fall down upon us,
May it NEVER BE!

Abba, We Pray for our own Nation,
which is rapidly approaching the tipping point
of selling out Our Birthright of
Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness,
Which Have been Endowed By YOU.
Whether for Ideological Reasons or Economic Reasons,
Please God,
Don't Let Our Nation Sell Out Our Birthright,
Or Our Friendship With Israel,
Which is the Same as Our Honor and Pledge,
For A Lousy Bowl of SOUP!

We also pray for Ourselves, Dear Father.
We Pray for Personal Resolve Within Our Hearts
that We Will Not be Tempted to "Go With The Flow",
as Things Get More Difficult.
Keep us from temptation and deliver Us from Evil.
We Pray For The peace Of Jerusalem According To Your Will And Promise,
And Long To See The The Full Revelation and Redemption of All Your People.

We Pray That Anything That Does Not Give Glory To You
Be Removed From Your Holy Places.
For It Is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
But By Your Spirit, That We Shall Overcome.

We Pray For Bibi Netayahu, and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Thread

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 72

Prayer for Guidance and Support for the King
Of Solomon.

1Give the king your justice, O God,
and your righteousness to a king’s son.
2May he judge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice.
3May the mountains yield prosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness.
4May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the needy,
and crush the oppressor.

5May he live* while the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
6May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass,
like showers that water the earth.
7In his days may righteousness flourish
and peace abound, until the moon is no more.

8May he have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River to the ends of the earth.
9May his foes* bow down before him,
and his enemies lick the dust.
10May the kings of Tarshish and of the isles
render him tribute,
may the kings of Sheba and Seba
bring gifts.
11May all kings fall down before him,
all nations give him service.

12For he delivers the needy when they call,
the poor and those who have no helper.
13He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
14From oppression and violence he redeems their life;
and precious is their blood in his sight.

15Long may he live!
May gold of Sheba be given to him.
May prayer be made for him continually,
and blessings invoked for him all day long.
16May there be abundance of grain in the land;
may it wave on the tops of the mountains;
may its fruit be like Lebanon;
and may people blossom in the cities
like the grass of the field.
17May his name endure for ever,
his fame continue as long as the sun.
May all nations be blessed in him;*
may they pronounce him happy.

18Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who alone does wondrous things.
19Blessed be his glorious name for ever;
may his glory fill the whole earth.Amen and Amen.

20The prayers of David son of Jesse are ended.

Psalm 37

1 Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;

2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.

9 For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.

11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy great peace.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;

13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.

15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.

16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;

17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the LORD upholds the righteous.

18 The days of the blameless are known to the LORD,
and their inheritance will endure forever.

19 In times of disaster they will not wither;
in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

20 But the wicked will perish:
The LORD’s enemies will be like the beauty of the fields,
they will vanish—vanish like smoke.

21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously;

22 those the LORD blesses will inherit the land,
but those he curses will be cut off.

23 If the LORD delights in a man’s way,
he makes his steps firm;

24 though he stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.

26 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be blessed.

27 Turn from evil and do good;
then you will dwell in the land forever.

28 For the LORD loves the just
and will not forsake his faithful ones.
They will be protected forever,
but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;

29 the righteous will inherit the land
and dwell in it forever.

30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks what is just.

31 The law of his God is in his heart;
his feet do not slip.

32 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous,
seeking their very lives;

33 but the LORD will not leave them in their power
or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

34 Wait for the LORD
and keep his way.
He will exalt you to inherit the land;
when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

35 I have seen a wicked and ruthless man
flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,

36 but he soon passed away and was no more;
though I looked for him, he could not be found.

37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
there is a future [b] for the man of peace.

38 But all sinners will be destroyed;
the future of the wicked will be cut off.

39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

40 The LORD helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Praying for The Peace of Jerusalem, Israel and its people, The World.

It is through prayer that we receive the wisdom and strength to face the events of our lives. It is through prayer that we renew every day our covenant with God. It is through prayer that, collectively, we help Light shine through darkness.

Blessings, blessings to all.

Wow, Yorkie, that is Beautiful!

Stained Glass was used to teach Bible Stories to people who could not read.
It was a Brilliant Form of Mass Communication

And Beautiful to look at too!
