I know it is the fishwrap, but John Allen generally shoots straight from the hip, even if I don't necessarily agree with all his conclusions.

With that said, for your discussion and discernment.

Sounds like the devotees who insist there is more to be revealed need to simmer down.

If Sister Lucia said that is it then we should take her at her word.

My thought on the bullets and arrows is perhaps the verbal attacks on the Papacy through out history.

And Russia my thought is as Fr. Sheen once chalkboard it how they will take over the world with communisism and without ever having to drop a literal bomb.

And the Hell vision, well that is to me now a daily affirmation personally “I dont want to go to hell”.
As we tend to forget it IS an eternal possiblity for a soul.

Amazing how well the reality of that daily affirmation works in my obedience to the Lord in all aspects.

"... the world’s most celebrated Marian shrine inevitably evokes the undercurrent of secrets and cosmic mysteries ..."

Benedict XVI gently distanced himself from exacting exegesis of the Fatima visions ...

“There is a supernatural impulse which doesn’t come simply from someone’s imagination but from the supernatural reality of the Virgin Mary,” the pope said. “That impulse enters into a subject, and is expressed according to the possibilities of the subject, who is determined by his or her historic situation. The supernatural impulse is translated, so to speak, according to the subject’s possibilities for imagining it and expressing it.”

“In this expression formed by the subject, there are always hidden possibilities to go beyond, to go deeper,” he said. “Only with time can we see all the depth which was, so to speak, dressed in this vision, which was possible for the concrete person.”

My goodness, all this waxing eloquent over secrets held regarding an apparition seen nearly a century ago by three children. How many other apparitions have a shrine? That is, how many in any Christian belief?

It appears to this Christian that the veneration of Mary is inexorably sliding into Marian heresy. The above excerpts sound nothing like Christianity. They sound more like some sort of mystery cult with a gnostic priesthood.

All these people saying "tell us the secret, we don't know all the secret, you're still hiding secrets!" Why does this sound so familiar? Is God fond of secrecy among men? From my reading, I've seen no indication that He is, and many indications that He is not.

There are repercussions ongoing from secrecy in other areas of this church.
