It is God that sanctifies men ... Jesus said (to the father)"17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17
Paul said in Eph 5:26 That he (God) might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (I Thes. 5: 23).
James says: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.:Jam 1:21
Peter said Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1Pe 1:23
You are taking that term of “santifying men” much too broadly.
As a former Catholic, you know that the priest sanctifies all Catholics through the Sacraments.
In reference to men alone, I believe the priest sanctifies young men by talking to them about his priesthood path and the possibility of them becoming a priest.
