The promise of indefectibility:
Mt 16:18
... and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it (the church).

Actually, Mt. 16:18b tells us that the "grave" shall not prevail against the assembly of called out ones (the church). Hades, translated "netherworld" in your quote is actually the "grave"; and death is the entry into the grave, i.e., the "gate."
