Pretty easy.
Moses.
He was God’s Friend. And, God buried him.
There’s a lot of other reasons as well.
No hint of such things with Mary in all of Scripture.
Christ made very clear Mary’s rank in the over all scheme of things when
HE
asserted that those who did the will of The Father were equal to his mother, BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
So where then is Mary in this eschelon? She can't be greater than Christ, since Christ is greater than Moses, and none were greater, ever, than Moses, per God. Moses has no fancy titles, doesn't have a throne and never entered into the promised land. Yet, among men, up until Christ, there were none greater.
Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
So now Mary, having been born before John had to be the lesser . That throne is shrinking
