The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.
Step One:

Particularly, it usually seems,
specific answers which context and logic require Christian honesty in delineating.
. . . unless a new level of brazeness seems to be on offer for the moment.
Not just that . . . but that Mary remains
HOLY SPIRIT’S SPOUSE in heaven.

Since we are unacquainted, *your* judgment of me is flawed.

Yes, Quix, Petronski is all of that.
It’s refreshing to see someone such as yourself post with such accurate and impressive REALITY TESTING in such matters.
He certainly could’ve, but He wanted to show how much He loved us. And He gave us a free will so that we could reject Him if we chose.
If you agree that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, then who He is never changes. All of God’s instructions to Moses (and Moses’ shining face after being in the presence of God), Isaiah’s attitude of humility and the angel having to touch his lips with the burning coal to purify him, all the incidents in the Old Testament such as when David brought the Ark of the Covenant back and a man reached out his hand to steady it on the cart and then was struck dead for touching it, makes you realize how holy God is. It doesn’t make sense that He would live and grow inside a woman who was not totally pure and holy. If a man could die merely from touching the Ark of the Covenant, there is no way that a woman could live and carry God in her womb if she were not totally pure and holy.
Yeah, Jesus will likely come first.
Mary is the Queen of Heaven. 100% Human, assumed into heaven by her Son.
A new low in mind reading?
No.
Not for those of us who wish to discourse about serious issues of faith and practice in the Christian Church at large.
However, thankfully, the lurkers are not as dum, ignorant, blind and stupid as so many Roman Catholic et al posters seem to think they are.
So very beautifully said, Nanette. Thanks.
Quix, if Catholics thought lurkers were dumb, we wouldn’t bother with the trash that the anti-Catholic bigots spew endlessly.
Jesus came here to walk the same soil we do, He got dirty feet, He sweated, scripture says he was tempted as we are.. to have this happen He had to have a HUMAN, TEMPTABLE nature . Remember He ate with sinners.. Do you think God could not remain God in the presence of sin??? Catholics do not have a Jesus that is 100% man and 100% God..
I guess some folks are chronically losing their passifiers.
Getting dirty feet is no sin. Neither is sweating. Neither is being tempted. Yet Christ, the Risen Son of the Living God, and Savior of Church, is fully man and fully God. Numerical percentages are simple foolishness.
YOU SURE ARE.
But, but, “there is no marriage in Heaven” per Jesus
The Bible does not say that He had a temptable nature, just that the devil tempted Him. A temptable nature would be one that succumbs. Adam and Eve were pure in the Garden until the serpent tempted them. They didn’t have a temptable nature at that point, but they succumbed and from then on, they did.
I will be happy to converse with you, but if you are going to start making personal comments about Catholic beliefs (since you aren’t one), then I won’t be able to talk to you any more. And by the way, I grew up Presbyterian, so I know Protestant beliefs quite well since I was one for a long time.
