The Scenario:
Ever have one of those days when youre feeling full of energy and vigor? I mean, youre feeling just obnoxiously happy? Well, this is one of those days.
Driving home from work, you switch on the radio to see whats happening, and you tune in to a local Protestant radio station just in time to hear a preacher speaking against various Catholic doctrines concerning Mary. The show is called Pastor Bobs Bible Hour. Pastor Bob proclaims: Jesus knew Catholics would come along and begin to worship His mother and call her perpetual virgin and absurd things like that. But the Bible says: Is not this the carpenters son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all of His sisters with us? (Matt. 13:55-56a). And isnt it sad, my brothers and sisters?
Pastor Bob goes on to say: Jesus dealt with these Mary worshippers in His day. In Luke 11:27-28, the Bible says, A woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked! But He said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!
On a normal day you would probably just listen, take a few mental notes and drive on. But not this time. Youre feeling a little bit too saucy. You take the first exit you see and head for a phone. This is just one more reason why you need to buy that cell phone youve been talking about getting.
Step One:

It was said that Catholics are asking Mary to pray for them or with them, not one sign of that in the prayers I posted ..that was my point..they were asking Mary to do something for them or offering themselves not to Christ, but Mary
Once again there is not one iota of proof that the dead can hear prayers to them said all over the world at the same time,,that would make them omnipresent and that is an attribute of God
Nice YOPIOS. Reading the full chapter, the woman is Israel, for the Christian church has never fled into the wilderness, nor has the devil waged war with a remnant of her seed.
Making doctrine based on the silence of scripture is a spiritually dangerous thing.. Lets see, maybe the scientologists are right, maybe jesus was a space man sent from a far off planet to work with men, scripture does not tell us that jesus is not the archangel Michael..maybe the JWs are right, scripture does not tell us that peter, paul were not also assumed into heaven..so they must have been .
We can just make it up as we go along, because the scripture does not speak to that.. Ohhh wait a minute the catholic church is already doing that
I asked first, you do not want to answer?
Scripture please
Are they infallible? Do you accept EVERY word of these Fathers are true and correct... careful now
Exodus 19
Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: 4You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles wings and brought you to myself.
The Church is the bride. A man does not marry his mother
Isaiah 61:10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
What was the role of miracles in Christ's ministry in your mind??
That's YOPIOS. How can Israel be Christ's Mother? But we do from Scripture that Mary, along with her spouse Joseph, fled into the wilderness due to Herod seeking the Child's life.
The ability to hear our prayers is an ability God gives them.
The false doctrine of men insisting we must not ask the Saints in Heaven to pray for us is a spiritually dangerous thing.
“What do mean by the implication that their time is not finished?”
“They still have work to do on earth, the Blessed Virgin Mary’s earthly life is complete and rewarded therefor we see her as an example to be followed.”
What work is it that Enoch and Elijah still have to do on earth?
Where in scripture does it say to talk to or pray to anyone in heaven but God?
Can people in hell be intercessors? purgatory? What if the person you are praying to is in hell?
So naturally you never ask others to pray for you.
That's not what the Church teaches. The Church teaches that Mary is the Queen Mother, not the Queen Consort, as I said above.
You like making that demand, but you have no Scriptural mandate to do so. Unless, that is, you can prove sola Scriptura is mandated by Scripture.
Christ's ministry is not merely in my mind (or any other mortal mind). It is real.
Doctor Scott Hahn was an anti-Catholic, fervent Protestant, who converted to Catholisism, after researching the "problems with Catholisism" for a book he was working on.
Dr. Hahn lovingly explains why his research found The Catholic Church to be the true to the Word of God.
Matthew
Chapter 7
1 "Stop judging, that you may not be judged.
2 For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
3 Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?
4 How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye?
5 You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.
Good post, they do say she is sitting on a throne next to Christ.. and somehow she is totally absent from Johns vision of heaven.. of course she has flown away on the wings of an eagle.. maybe that is why we can not see her HUH??
In all of Scripture, or in your redacted version?
Where in Scripture does it say NOT to talk to or pray to anyone in heaven?
Where in Scripture is this mandate sola Scriptura?
