You’re saying it’s their imagination, that’s all.

As for Castaneda, it sure sounds like he lacks a clear, solid conceptualization of what he’s trying to describe.

If you could see a real time X-Ray of your skeleton, it would not be in your imagination, just a change in your ability to perceive, aided by an X-Ray machine.

Were it just your imagination, there would be no skeleton there. And were you trying to see it with just your eyes, you could not, because it is not visible with normal light inside your body.

So he would say that whatever it is, it exists, if only as a contained and stable energetic field, not as a physical thing. And that it is associated with the human species. And that it is accessible to the individuals within the human species, needing only a change in perception to perceive it—that is, it is omnipresent to humans.

However, with observation, what it is not is “responsive”, showing no indication of awareness or interactivity beyond a template for human reproduction. Yet those who experience it, once, are completely convinced of its magnificence, in some cases later rationalizing it as just the opposite, as being malevolent. Hung up on everything either being “good” or “evil”, not just existing.

And only with repeated views are those feelings dispelled, by those who are able to view it repeatedly, who conclude that it is just a template, or mold, and that a person’s perceptions need to transcend it to find real answers. It is not the answer, it just lies on the path that leads to answers.

My ex/late wife died from Cancer in 1997. We had talked on ocassion, but hadn’t seen each other in 5 years. The morning she died I had a dream that we were in our old car parked on the highway. I wanted to take a little side trip, but she was insistent that I ‘’take her home’’. After a short discussion she took my hands in hers, looked me staight in the eye and said emphatically, ‘’you have to take me home now’’. I said okay. I then awakened looked at the clock and then went back to sleep. It was 5:45am. I got a call later that morning from her sister telling me she had died. Thinking back to my dream I asked when, she told me the doctor listed time of death at 5:45am. No one will convince me that the spirit doesn’t exist and that spiritual connections don’t exist.
