Catholic Word of the Day Ping!
Please send me a FReepmail if you would like to be on the Catholic Word of the Day Ping List.
Is it Catholic belief that God knows what a person will do in their life at the time of creation, or before?
This definition of creationism is so far from the word in common usage as to communicate nothing but confusion.
To 99.9% of people who use the word, including 99.95 of devout Catholics, creationism is the belief in God creating everything in 6 “days’.
Are you talking about ‘predestined’ beliefs?
When St. Paul talks about these beliefs he is talking to the Christians who have professed their belief in Christ and the Holy Spirit — Capter 8 is full of it.
As for indibiduals, St. Paul does not address this in my opinion. Just led a Scripture Study on it yesterday!
It’s common for words to have multiple meanings.
I’m not sure. I’ve always thought that Christians believe God knows the future of each individual. I’m wondering if it is long before He creates them, or when He creates them?
Har-har... Yup, you dangled the worm and I bit...
The contrast is very interesting, isn’t it?
Hey, all in all, it’s a fun thread.
Which part of the creationism to you believe in?
The part talked about in the original definition about a soul being created?
Or the creationism vs. evolution arguments?
I would agree. The Catholic Word of the Day definition just took me by surprise. Worth posting and pondering, that’s for sure.
