Kind of a wierd duck...

He taught them that the way to salvation was not to be ever disputing about matters of religion (an abuse that was grown to a great height at that time in Constantinople), but to keep the commandments,[22] to give alms, to exercise hospitality, to visit and serve the sick, to pray, sigh, and weep; to mortify the senses, repress anger, watch over the tongue, and subject the body to the spirit.

Nothing about the shed blood of Jesus...Nothing about faith...It's all about doing good works, to earn your way to heaven...

Greg was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, was provided the best education possible and his life's desire was to become a hermit...

A Billy Graham, Greg wasn't...He obviously ignored Jesus' command to go into the world and preach the Gospel in favor of lying around and crying most of the time (about what, I couldn't guess)...

"A Billy Graham, Greg wasn't...He obviously ignored Jesus' command to go into the world and preach the Gospel "

"On Easter Day, and there preached his first sermon on that great festival."

"In this small church Nazianzen preached, and every day assembled his little flock, which increased daily. "

"Nothing about the shed blood of Jesus...Nothing about faith"

"In this small church Nazianzen preached, and every day assembled his little flock, which increased daily. The Arians and Apollinarists, joined with other sects, not content to defame and calumniate him, had recourse to violence on his person. They pelted him with stones as he went along the streets, and dragged him before the civil magistrates as a malefactor, charging him with tumult and sedition."

He's a witness for the shed blood of Jesus.

That's "St. Gregory" to you.

Look at these facts: Christ is born, the Holy Spirit is His Forerunner. Christ is baptized, the Spirit bears witness to this… Christ works miracles, the Spirit accompanies them. Christ ascends, the Spirit takes His place. What great things are there in the idea of God which are not in His power? What titles appertaining to God do not apply also to Him, except for Unbegotten and Begotten? I tremble when I think of such an abundance of titles, and how many Names they blaspheme, those who revolt against the Spirit!Gregory of Nazianzus, Or. 31:29. Duuude... your so right. We should horde our money, and build bigger barns. We don’t need to keep the commandments ‘cause that there’s works religion. Don’t give to the poor, don’t be hospitable, don’t visit the sick, don’t bother praying, and whatever you do don’t weep for your sins. All we need is our faith...and to imitate Billy boy. (sarc)

My friend, I know you would not advocate for such positions, but your post dishonoring such a great ancient christian smacks of exactly such a position.
