I have been called a Pharisee more times than I can remember. It goes with the territory. I host a conservative Christian radio talk show. I publicly defend the teachings and practices of the historic Church. I also publicly point out false teaching and practices in the Church today. For these reasons alone, some believe that I deserve to be called a Pharisee.
But I'm not alone. Today, the label "Pharisee" is applied to many Christians just like me - perhaps you're one of them. We are Christians who cherish God's Word, the Church's historic Creeds, confessions and practices. When we see the Church abandoning these things to follow the latest fads and entertainments, we lament. When we see the Gospel itself being left behind in the Church's rush to mimic popular culture, we are grieved.

Hey, thanks for posting this! Todd Wilken was a seminary classmate, is a friend, and he hosts a great program (radio and internet)!
Wow, just Wow. This man’s self delusion is breathtaking.
There is more pride, self-justification and, should I say it, phariseeism, in this article than I have seen in many a post here...and I’ve seen a lot like it.
Pull your robes around you, gang.
I read it. It was really short. What phrase or sentence or whatever was pharisaical to you? I don’t know the writer, never heard of him before, but I read nothing offensive.
Well, you have to understand why he wrote the article in the first place.
You apparently know the man. Please tell us why he wrote the article. Speak for him. BTW, I did read the article, have saved it to my hard drive.
I was just going to drop by and make a comment about why I created something, and before I got a chance I find I have to administer it....
Irving's Law, First Cause has been invoked. norge forfeits all points.
So, does that give you administrator rights on FR? :)
The Pharisees were the only sect at that time “ordaining” rabbis and, since Jesus was saluted many times as “Rabbi,” the connection seems clear.
Add that Phariseeism had a very strong influence on the synagogue and the development of modern Judaism, hence there’s a little more to the overall story than necessarily meets the eye.
hope you and everyone who appreciates Todd will tune in to Fighting for the Faith also - Chris Rosebrough was instrumental in keeping Issues Etc going. Chris can use the support too, his internet radio station Pirate Christian Radio

The irony and self delusion here is breathtaking.
I do. Why do YOU think he wrote the article? I didn't see you answer that. It's been... 9 almost 10 months now?
