Good post.

One thing you left out, however, is that Vlasny is Publisher-in- Chief of Oregon Catholic Press (OCP). OCP music has probably contributed more to the destruction of Catholic liturgical Tradition than any other single entity.

A quick look at the folks on the OCP payroll would find a number of renegade (ex)priests and nuns, paired homos, and other radicals who openly flaunt Catholic teaching.

And Vlasny wonders what happened to Lenten traditions?
Ya gotta wonder what he has been smoking.

OCP, ugh! You’re right to point that out, and there is even more than the usual amount of corruption, nepotism and such in OCP and in this Archdiocese. Lots of homos, progressives and ugly fat women who are all inter-connected thru family, friends, previous jobs, and such. I’m not implying the women are lesbians, BTW, it just seems to be a peculiarity of the chancery that most of the women really are ugly and fat, except of course MaryJo Tully, who is ugly and skinny and seems to believe that she’s actually the archbishop. The way he hides behind her skirts is quite pathetic.

Maybe some good Catholics more charitable than I will be offended by my candor. I used to think it was wrong to speak disrespectfully of anyone in the Church. After a while, when they’ve taken our money, twisted our faith, profaned the Mass and (as you indicate) the music, my feeling is more along the lines of “I’m mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.”

This is precisely how I see it. I would guess that many other Catholics see it the same way.

“My kids watch me like a hawk for hypocrisy. They are learning to walk the walk from my example. If I break a law I disagree with, what will stop them from breaking one they disagree with? What if they don’t like the stop sign law, or the drunk driving law? No, it is much easier as a parent(at least for me) to set the example I want them to follow.”

The footsteps they follow are always the ones you tried to hide. Seems to be a law or something.

“Fast from yourself”

Don’t understand that.
