It is Tucson, AZ where we go in the winter and plan to be here permanent one day soon. It is in town or outskirts and our class and the RCIA were invited to attend. We attended Mass with the nuns in their chapel first. We also prayed the Rosary at their St. Bernadette shrine outside. Being in the desert and trekking up the mountian all rocky and rough made me think of Christ’s journey and how rough to walk for him with a real cross to carry. I didn’t get blisters, but the front of my thighs ached for a couple of days.

I visited the outskirts of Tuscon with my daughter and son in law who live in Phoenix. Wow — there are some huge hills there.

The rocks of the dessert do remind me of Golgotha, because as I understand it, Golgotha was an abandoned rock quarry.
