The spanking has yet to begin.
“I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.”
And this...
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
As we prayed over the election in our assembly, we could not help but acknowledge the failure of the church to be a faithful, active witness for the Lord. This, as much as anything else, contributed to last night’s results. And, while we know that “all things work together for good, for those who love God...” what is it He is after in the end? It is for His people to be conformed to the image of His Dear Son. So, whether it be by means of peaceful democracy, or through the vice of atheistic socialism, God’s plan for the life of the believer remains unchanged. It is to bring the child of God to the place in his life where all is laid on the altar of sacrifice, a shaking free of the snare brought on by attachment to this world is brought about, and a deeper walk of faith in Christ is achieved.
He has, however,
started unbuckling His very ample belt.
