So Rod runs a piece about how the Dallas GOP is crying in their beer in despair because they are sure Obama's gonna win.
Then one of his readers writes in to say:
Ok, but for what it is worth, I spoke this morning to a very close friend of mine - a hardcore ideological lefty journalist who has ties to the Clintons.
He told me of a certain mover and shaker publisher with close ties to the Democratic Party who is absolutely scared "[stuff]-less" that the Obama campaign is in for a very rude surprise come November when the Republicans will manage to pull it out.
Now, to be sure, my lefty friend and everyone he knows thinks this opinion is crazy as hell, that Obama is going to cruise to an easy and certain victory at the polls. But the publisher is adamant that the Democratic ship is going to hit a reef before its all over.
But the greatest triumph of all is to elevate his horror of the Same Old Thing into a philosophy so that nonsense in the intellect may reinforce corruption in the will. It is here that the general Evolutionary or Historical character of modern European thought (partly our work) comes in so useful. The Enemy loves platitudes. Of a proposed course of action He wants men, so far as I can see, to ask very simple questions; is it righteous? is it prudent? is it possible? Now if we can keep men asking "Is it in accordance with the general movement of our time? Is it progressive or reactionary? Is this the way that History is going?" they will neglect the relevant questions. And the questions they do ask are, of course, unanswerable; for they do not know the future, and what the future will be depends very largely on just those choices which they now invoke the future to help them to make. As a result, while their minds are buzzing in this vacuum, we have the better chance to slip in and bend them to the action we have decided on.
Let the riots begin, win or lose.
you can't trust what you read or hear on TV because so much of it is designed to either cheer for your candidate or despair of voting for him.
Turn off the evening news and stop reading newspaper articles about the big Obama win. The election is still 2 weeks away. By now, you know the issues and have made your choice. Time to relax.
There will be no riots if Obama is exposed as a fraud. Exposing James Cone/Black Liberation Theology will turn most people off Obama.
My state, Washington, is so blue even the dead vote. But I’ll still vote for Palin all the way.
There will be no riots if black ministers lead the way to Pro-Life votes.
I am going to vote for McCain/Palin, even though I live in deep blue CT. I would not stress out, it looks like a number of the polls are getting tighter in this race.
Plus warn anyone who riots will not get their support.
That is true, his resume is so thin, that no answer can be given.
Texans don’t scare easy.
Best advise i’ve heard all week....

Warms me heart, to hear that. But it remains to be seen. There are far too many His O-ness yard signs around here.
And a McCain victory is not a complete win -- just gains us a few more years.

BTTT!
I think that it is time for those of use who still have an informed conscience to stop paying cable and satellite companies. TV is a major part of the problem. It is a distraction at best and an obstruction at it’s worst. People have all kinds of rationalizations for continuing to support the enemy but this election has proved them erroneous.
Our local news/talk station reported on a poll that shows Obama winning big in all of the Big Ten conference states, including a lead of 22 points in Michigan. Now it’s likely that Obama will win here, but there’s no way he’s ahead by 22 points! Curiously, the reporter failed to mention the name of the polling firm, margin of error, number of people polled, and party affiliation statistics.
They’re trying to manipulate us into thinking this thing is over. Don’t let ‘em do it!
If McCain wins the PRM, it will only be as part of a landslide.
Nevertheless, in a state (and especially in Montgomery Country) that should be true-"blue" for Obama, I see remarkably few signs and bumper stickers for him. I can count on one hand, with fingers to spare the number of cars I've seen still sporting "Kerry/Edwards" stickers (of which there are many) that also have an Obama sticker on them.
For once, I actually think the high number of "undecided" in most polls is right -- a lot of independents and democrats are incline to vote Obama, but can't bring themselves to do so, nor can they bring themselves to quite go for McCain. Neither man has "sealed the deal".
So, for whom do the undecideds break? That's the real wild card, in my opinion -- the media's trumpeting of bogus slanted polls to show an Obama landslide is intended to suppress republican voters, to be sure, but it also may be intended to either suppress "wild card" independents or get them onto an Obama bandwagon as well.
Turnout is key. Poll internals (when published) show that republicans support McCain more than democrats support Obama -- if the GOP turns out in sufficient numbers, the wild card independents probably don't matter.
The only reply was "He's not Bush."
