Second annual Rosary Bowl. The weather was weird, but the prayers weren't!

Blessings to all who worked so hard to organize this.

My pastor worked behind the scenes hearing Confessions!

If you don’t have a Rosary Bowl in your area, I would encourage you to start thinking about it and see what can happen by October of 2009.

We don’t have one but last Sunday we processed to a public arena for Mass while saying the Rosary and the priests consecrated us all to Mary’s protection. The plan is for it to become an annual event.

Salvation, would you please answer a question for me?

Were there many children, teens or families there? From the photo it looks like mostly older folks, but that could just be a group they happened to catch in that picture.

I wanted to encourage our parish youth group to go this year, it would have been quite a drive, and I got resistance from the religious ed people. However, if I can make the case with our Pastor that this is a family event and our kids would be uplifted by seeing other young folks, then maybe with some advance planning next year I can be successful is persuading the DRE to organize a field trip. If the priest pushes it, they will comply, but I have to push him. (I’m that gung-ho person in the parish that annoys everyone, ha ha.)

Pray the Rosary daily for all those suffering/ill esp. for those who have trials.

It may take us home bound folks three goes at it in one day to complete our Rosary but God knows every intention we send up is with much empathy and human love.

God Bless you Salvation and let us also remember our brothers/sisters who souls are reposed in Purgartory.

We have been so fortunate to have such wonderful weather this fall here in Oregon.

We have been outside as much as possible as it wont be long before the cold icey winter is upon us.

Us O Ducks love the rain! LOL

GO DUCKS.

I'd like to learn more about the nuts and bolts of organizing such a thing.

In other news, while the Rosary is recited in the usual way 2x daily Mon through Fri in our parish, on Saturdays the lay Dominicans lead it Modo Dominican and recited "in choirs", that is, the left half of the congregation does the first half of each prayer for the 1st, 3rd, and 5th decades, and the right half does so for the 2nd and 4th. We just started doing this a couple of weeks ago and people seem to like it.

Anyway I guess I'll Google Rosary Bowl and dream about organizing one locally for 2010.

My priest is one of those listed in the article. I did not know about this or I would have been there. What a witness to faith and the ones needing it.
