Rick Warren, Interfaith Activist (RICK WARREN ECUMENICISM with ISLAM/MUSLIMS)
Washington Post ^ | 9-29-08 | eboo patel

Posted on 09/30/2008 7:21:40 AM PDT by Terriergal

Warren consistently used the language of a religious pluralist. He spoke of "mosques, temples and churches" as central to the life of villages in the developing world. He underscored the fact that there are huge numbers of people of faith in the world, and huge numbers of houses of worship in places where clinics, banks and schools don't exist. Those people of faith can be trained to be the arms and legs of any development plan, and those houses of worship can double as clinics, banks and schools.

This is a big deal, because it signals an important turn in the American Evangelical tradition - from viewing people of other faiths primarily as lost souls requiring conversion to viewing them as partners in the plan to make earth more humane and just. "Progressive Evangelicals" like Jim Wallis, Brian McLaren and Tony Campolo (read an interview here with Campolo on interfaith cooperation), have long been involved in interfaith efforts, but the mainline of that tradition has always been more wary. That could be changing.

Rick Warren is our new Billy Graham

No he's not. He's not fit to shine Rev. Graham's shoes.

What is disconcerting is that these men have a following because of their previous books. Not everyone knows what they are today doing, so they tend to hold respect among a large group of Christians.

As Christians, we must interact with other faiths in a way that doesn’t offend unnecessarily their faith, but at the same time, we cannot deny Christ, or make him only equal with their God or beliefs. Respect is one thnig, caving to their beliefs as being equal to Christianity is not the way. Feeding the poor and taking care of orphans and widows is wonderful, and we are instructed to do so, but not if you compromise the message of the gospel in doing it. You are not giving them the only source of Truth and Life.

And at this point is when he ceases to be a minister and becomes a socialist. Hopefully other evangelicals will not buy into this garbage and his "flock" will leave the fold before they're fleeced.

Warren needs to stop reading his own books and pick up the Word of God.

-”You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes and enemy of God.” James 4:4

-Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

-”Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

Every once in a while, I think he is a type of the Anti-Christ.

Very sad to see the deception of so many Christians being duped by this.

“”Ir maybe the False Prophet?””

In his Book “Man of Sin” Kim Riddlebarger make a great case that there have always been “types” of the anti-Christ. To qualify, you must either persecute Christians or spread a false Gospel.

If Warren is moving towards universalism, as it seems from the above article, it would qualify him as a type, using Riddlebarger’s thesis anyway.... (As would any false prophet)
