Oh, and all the non-Protestant "minorities" who scream bloody murder every time they find a tract under their windshield wiper aren't? But then, as with Blacks and whites, prejudice is always a one-way phenomenon, and only Protestants can ever be guilty, right?
The article is from some time ago. The motivation and the history of the poster are obviously clear. You didnt seem to sensitive about that, even jumping on the hit parade.
As I said, I've been behaving myself. But making fun of people for using King James English? That sounds like Obama. Do you also advocate calling people names like "Cletus" and referring to Protestant churches as "Billy Bob's Glory Barn?" I suppose if you do that enough times the liberal urban Irish may eventually grow to accept you as a "real Catholic."
We both handled it exactly the same. You from the attack mode and me from the counter attack mode.
You completely misunderstood what I was talking about. I was not referring to this thread at all. I meant both you and I are rednecks who converted to Catholicism. We both found ourselves fish out of water. I handled it by getting out, while you apparently handle it by aiming barbs at "rednecks" so you can be a "good Catholic."
While Wikipedia is of course hardly a sound source of information, my own personal experience confirms the following quote from that source:
However, a Zogby poll of American Catholics showed Catholics having a more hostile attitude toward Fundamentalist Evangelical Protestants than to any non-Christian religion.
It's hardly a crime to dislike someone who dislikes you.
Reading the mind of another poster is a form of "making it personal."
” I handled it by getting out, while you apparently handle it by aiming barbs at “rednecks” so you can be a “good Catholic.””
That is a factual lie. I never called anybody a redneck. I jokingly referred to myself as a redneck....Your use of “apparently” indicates you can read my mind, although you didn’t take the time to see that your premise is wrong.
>>But making fun of people for using King James English? That sounds like Obama.<<
Hmmmm, how about an example where Obama made fun of someone using the “Kings English”
Holy crap, this is the exact statement made
>>Trust in Rome if ye wish, it will burn when the Lords judgment comes on the Earth.<<
It’s not a quote from the KJV for heavens sake.
If I posted with thees thous and thys of the Douay-Rhemes, FReepers would have a blast.
Who tinkled in thine cheerios this morning?
oh...I see. Your hatred of Catholicism is not really about Catholic doctrine...it is a personal vendetta.
