Christ is the theme of the entire revelation of God. He is promised in Genesis, revealed in the law, prefigured in its history, praised in its poetry, proclaimed in its prophecy provided in its Gospels, proved in its Acts, preeminent in its Epistles and prevailing in Revelation.

Consider Luke 24:25 And he said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory? 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
AND
John 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

So very true! Thank you for reminding us.
Great stuff!!!
Thanks for posting.
I agree, great stuff! I knew Christ was in every book, but it is nice to see it in such clear outline form.
When I saw the headline, I could think of a few books I read when I was younger, that didn’t have Christ in them, unless it was a swear word :>)
Were it so clear why a New Testament?
I can’t speak for Gamecock, but let me try to give an answer he’d agree with. Once the Messiah came, it was such a major event, the New Covenant Jesus started needed writing down.
Christians have always understood that the Old Testament cannot be properly understood apart from the New Testament, and...importantly, the New Testament cannot be understood apart from the Old Testament.
The good news of “salvation,” the gospel, of Jesus Christ, is meaningless apart from the bad news, of our inability to obey God’s holy laws (found in the Old Testament) which is why the Church has always relied on both testaments. The OT anticipates and points to a future event, and a future person, the coming Messiah.
(One serious issue today is too many Christians try to understand the NT without any understanding of the OT...)
The NT gives us the picture (or 4 pictures) of that Messiah, Jesus, the 4 gospels, and in the rest of the NT shows us just how faith in Him, His life and work on the cross, works out.
I bet Gamecock will agree. But, I’m curious to hear his response to your question as well.
I believe Jesus was the moshiac in the same sense that David, Solomon and other Kings of Israel were: anointed with oil, and that he was to guide Israel into the Messianic era. That his whole career had led him to the point where, perhaps anticipating a miracle, he was rather arrested at Succot in the fall, jailed and crucified some 5-6 months later during the Passover.
In that sense he failed.
Agnostic though I may be to Jesus' divinity, he yet succeeded in the sense that he became the Messiah which gradually culminated in his inspiring America as the guarantor of Liberty in the world. And in that sense Israel and America are chosen of God in their respective missions.

IMHO, the angelic conflict continues. For every age in which major themes are manifest for all creation to behold His Soverignty and Majesty, there arises new assaults upon His perfect plan for all creation.
By communicating the good news of His Incarnation and what He has told to man, we are shown so much more what and how He has prepared for us to perform the Great Commission.
There are elements of faith involved in the OT believers and a different set of new types of faith in post Incarnation ages. Both OT and NT believers are saved through faith in Him, but unlike the OT believers, we are today indwelt by all three persons of the Godhead. Our growth through faith in Him during this Church Age is well presented in the NT.
Wasn't it Augustine who said The New is in the Old concealed, the Old is in the New revealed?
